Walton L9 that was something of an open campus university. Peculiar tuition fee system. The dean was a splendid fellow and campus security were quite charming. Always available to deal with unsavoury characters, any time: day or night. Even provided a delivery service. You don't get that at Oxbridge I can tell you.

Wellingborough

I went to the OU in Milton Keynes... though it was work rather than education.

An experience all the same though. Had to cut up a scientific table for it to be removed. Upon doing so, we set off the smoke alarms, what followed though was an education and amusement. The scientists and professors all started appearing from their labs and offices, congregated in the hall way and started a discussion on the movement of air and its circulation and the most efficient method of increasing the flow to turn off the alarms. Whilst they were stood debating (genuinely in their t jackets with elbow pads), we took a rubber glove and stretched it over the smoke alarm.

Whilst their though, we were shown the old bbc filling studios, gave advice on turning some parts for the Mars rover and had a drink in the professors cellar bar.
