Dumb Question About Message Filtering

We have set our age range to 40-60 and according to the 'administrators' no one outside this age range can message us.

So, how is it we are getting messages from guys in their 20's? What is it that we have missed, not done or misunderstood?

Have you set your message filters as well as your preferred range on your profile?

Have you spoken to them before? This will override the filters if you have. (I think)

We would only have responded to a message to tell them to sling their hooks. We don't seek out 'young boys' and so the initial message would have to have come from them.

Thanks for the advice. Our message filters say that anyone outside our age range will be blocked and our preferences say 40-60. We NEVER message anyone first and so the initial message will always have come from the other end. Maybe I should speak with the administrators?

You've set your age range and that can be seen. If you go into Message filters, there's a section that the default says you have set your age range between 40 to 60 (in your case)but you have not blocked people outside this age range, do you want to block them now. You will need to click the block them bit to activate this bit of the filtering. The effect of this would mean at some aged 39 and 364 days or the day they turn 61 will be blocked from messageing you, unless you have first messaged them.

Forthose outside your selected age range that have already contacted you and you don't want to keep in touch, simply block them.

If you've had contact with someone before, regardless of whop sent the first message, they will still get through the filter.

You need to block them. Nothings broken or not working properly so no point in speaking to admin.

The blocks have been in place for weeks. Our message filters say our age range is 40-60 and we have blocked people outside that range. Will update when we get the next one (after dealing with him!).

All my filters are off at the moment cos I'm collating the Valentine's messages, but when I've had them on, I've never had a problem with them at all. I also just tried to message you and couldn't so they seem to be working now against single men outside your age range (Obi) and fake single fems called Daz

Why bother being polite? They obviously havent read your profile so just block them individually until your filters up and running as someone just said it is

PS what does 'Forthose' mean? Sounds kind of old Ebglish to me. Sounds like a sort of greeting?
