Reports of a £500 fine if you do not microchip your cat..

Is this flawed? If the moggie is not chipped then how do they prove it's your cat? What's going on here guys. It's all over the news

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

So, exactly like chipping a dog.

Big news then.

It's a good responsible thing for cat owners to do. I didn't know there's a fine for it but it's a small part of taking care of the animal.

I have always had my cats micro chipped. Why would you not want your much loved cat to be returned to you ?

Our cats are house cats and never leave the house or back garden so they’re not microchipped, if they went out, then they’d 100% be microchipped

Will we see the day when humans are chipped. It could help find lost children and help stop people trafficking maybe

When the cat gets lost, someone finds it and takes it to a vet and you go to collect it

I have thought about it. The vet nearest me posts on Facebook when animals have been found and handed in. If you went in and said ‘that’s my cat’, because your cat has been handed in then you’ve identified yourself as the owner of a non chipped cat

Think about it…

So what happens if a vet puts a cat on Facebook and the owner turns up to collect it. Will there be a fine if the cat is not chipped? Will cat owners no longer be collected by owners dodging the fine or will illegal dishonest vets turn a blind eye setting up some sort of black cat market.

Think about it. No one goes to claim the cat.

Tom it's worse than that. The cat owner doesn't have a computer and doesn't use facebook.
