What food of your childhood do you remember and have tried since and liked or not…

I remember Findus crispy pancakes. I saw them again recently and was not a fan

Also a Fray Bentos pie in the tin

Cornflake tart with custard. Still delicious. Way too sweet for more than a small portion now. :D

Tonypandy.

Tinned hamburgers in gravy. Bloody disgusting mush, exactly how I remember them.

Pie in a tin. Still love it now, but has to be steak and kidney.

Angel delight. Just as good.

I also tried the crispy pancakes as an adult. Really awful. Did they change the recipe or was I a deprived child

Tinned potatoes and carrots.

Awful then, pretty sure they'd still be awful now.

Everything my mum made when I was a kid got thrown into a chip pan, eating burgers from a chip pan wasn't nice, cut into it and the chip pan oil squirted out!!

But one thing I remember was meat paste sandwiches not sure I could touch it now.

I'd forgotten meat paste sandwiches. My mum used to make it extra special for us by adding a sliced pickled onion !

I tried a cheese filled Fray Bentos pie. I thought how bad can it get. I sat patiently waiting, the smell from the kitchen was like a rotting landfill (honest to god that's what went through my mind).... I was hungry, I'm a woman, I was getting hangree so tried it anyway

Tasted like strong milky baby sick. Not that I eat baby sick, you know when something is so strong like a fart or puke.... well that, it was VILE

Plus I got a horrible nervous sweat on trying to open the tin, I was absolutely convinced I'd end up in A&E. Dangerous!!!!

Admit it ! It's the pastry. The crispy top ...... the slimy slop underneath ..... there's no meat in them anyway ... a few lumps in gravy . I still love them but im vegan... so .. they do a veg curry one but hardly ever see it in the shops they do a cheese n onion one too but that's not vegan either ...

Widnes

These were school dinners, but from childhood;

Pink Custard

Semolina

I'd probably still eat both to be fair.

I am also an advocate for Angel Delight, Butterscotch flavour!

South Wales

Boil in the bag cod and parsley sauce, with mash and peas. Loved it!

Baked beans on toast was a frequent tea in our house - gets a bit old after awhile!
