Punk ain't dead.... It just smells funny..

I don't really have any top bands...I like too many..

as for yours..

killing joke..I like pretty much everything..

The men in black..the first 3 albums my favourites.. plus the live xcert

Clash . early singles first two albums..I think London calling is way overrated..and as for Sandinista... fucking hell ..

UK subs...some classic albums and singles..some fucking poor ones to..but Charlie Harper is a fucking legend..and such a down to earth bloke..

Anti nowhere league .. classic first album and early singles..now they're a fucking embarrassment..

Right on both counts. I couldn't be arsed to try and spell the name.

As for the parody, I never saw them live but had the EP and as a youth it felt real enough to me.

Kill in particular was properly Punk to me. Gobbing on Life was definitely more of a parody.

Seriously considering buying it again.

Adding my love to all the Clash fans on here - including Sandinista, which one poster has maligned.

I also saw Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros and it was such an amazing gig (at the now defunct TJs in Newport). Just a month before Joe Strummer died. I remember they started with the Clash’s “Police on My Back” - the crowd went nuts with that guitar/siren intro, spilled into the stage (only about a foot high) and knocked everything over. A good natured announcement that there’d be a 10 minute break and they re-opened with something a little more down key!

Also way to add to the love shown Stiff Little Fingers and Dead Kennedys on here.

Some great shouts here. Also SNFU, Zero Boys, Poison Idea.

As for Brit punks. Conflict, Crass, Cowboy Killers, Anhrefn and Dr. And The Crippins to name a few.

I remember Seeing the Exploited at The Clarendon in Hammersmith. Also Circle Jerks and Gang Green there too.

Ooooh Earth crisis. That's a band that doesn't pop up in threads very often. Throw back to my straight edge vegan youth "

Do you remember Crucial Youth? They only ever played venues that didn't sell alcohol.

Yeah they were kinda part of the straightedge scene but I think they used to be like a straight edge spoof/parody

The Clash and Generstion X were always on in our house growing up. My first ever record was King Rocker on red 7" vinyl. Wish I'd of been born 10 years earlier so I could of been a teenager when the Pistols were in their prime.

Still love the music and lucky enough to play in a band covering a load of the aforementioned. Pleased to say it still goes down a treat!

How about; The Saints, slaughter & the dogs, magazine.

Aah the Greyhound.

Last time I was there was for Conflict..

I also remember seeing Tankard there. Used to love the handy shelves around the pillars. Although they were quite painful when collided with when a pit opened up lol.
