So I'm 40 male , liked and got like back from a profile of female aged 19. 3/4 messages flirting and her profile had no pictures. She sent her number and asked to watsapp. Where we exchanged a few more messages then I fell asleep. Later the next day I get messages from a guy saying he's the dad and he's contacting police saying I've messaged his 14 yr old daughter. In no way did her profile suggest this or never in a million years would I entertain talking to a child like that. I've screenshot the messages to show she gave me the number to chat on Watsapp. So either she is underage and is saying anything to get herself out of getting caught by her parents. Or someone that knows her maliciously have made the profile up and then used her number. Either way I'm extremely worried as I am no predator. Either way if the police choose to contact me I have nothing to hide and I don't believe legally or morally that I've done anything wrong. I've reported the profile to admin on here few hours so hopefully they will look into the profile origins. I wouldn't normally air my dirty linen in public but wonder if anybody else encountered anything like this before,Any advice very welcome.

Wouldn't worry if you have nothing to hide the police aren't stupid they can read messages just like we all can so as long as what you say is the case you have nothing to worry about

Yes you are unfortunately as soon as you went for 20 years younger, i agree it probably was a set up and a guy you were chatting to with this as the planned outcome but has it taught you a lesson?

Screenshot her profile with her age on it, you've done nothing wrong if it stated she was 18, be wary of profiles with zero pics etc.

Yes, given that it is an adult site, and users must be over 18, there would be a reasonable expectation that the poster (listed as 19), was over 18.

Report the Fab profile, think you can also report on WhatsApp.

Screenshot everything.

Don't bother replying to the profile or WhatsApp messages again. Just ignore them.

Try not to worry. As others have said you have the screenshots as proof you did nothing wrong.

Maybe don't give your number to someone you've never seen a pic of next time, rule with your head and not your dick.

But also, yeah you've done nothing wrong. Other than being a tad horny, and maybe a bit of wishful thinking.

The police would see that you first made contact on this site and she has joined ticking a box to say over 18. You just got to take it as face value she was. Just never give your number out till you know them better.

Example of putting your trust in a random stranger on a sex site. Im sure you're not the first and won't be the last. Hope it works out ok. Doesnt sound like any dad i know though. Where the first question would surely be.. Who is he? Where do you know him from and how did he get your number?

This is a well known scam that is becoming more and more common. You've done nothing wrong by assuming that a person on an over 18s website was over 18.

If he's threatening to call the police, then tell him to do it. If he's a scammer then there is no way he will in a million years, and if he is genuine, then you have the evidence to prove you have done nothing wrong. If he asks for money from you then tell him your policeman brother will be handling his request from now on.

I'd suggest this is a scam with the eventual aim of asking for money or someone thinking they're funny.

Either way if the messages are on another platform fab admin can do nothing about them and you should report where they were exchanged. You can report the profile as take though, mentioning what happened.

As a future safeguard don't give out your number until you're very sure of who you're talking to.
