Love - working outside in sun, nobody to answer too and the feeling of freedom that permits, working with my sons, those odd jobs where the customer makes you a bacon sandwich every day

Hate - working outside in the rain and cold, having to piss in a watering can, limited choice of foods you can take for your bait as no kitchen facilities working out of a van

Finishing, weekends and holidays. Rest of it is a drag apart from the people, well most of them!

There is nothing I even like about my job. The benefits have all dissipated as those I work with have gotten younger and younger and the management have just carried on being...management.

I really should change and will I'm a couple of years.

Love my jobs

I generally control my own diary and am trusted. So if the work is done? I can go home. Want a lie in and start later? I can have one.

Worst things? My on-call weeks where I may get called out to a fatality (and railway fatalities are never pleasant), and doing disciplinaries - because I hate someone else’s actions putting me in a position where I have to be the bad guy.

It's a 10 minute drive to work on an easy country road and free parking when I get there.

I have a great manager who allows me to flexible with my days/hours.
