Apols to Tom for breaking some news (sorry dude, I know it’s your USP) but there’s outrage in Italy after a judge ruled that a 66 year old man groping a 17 year olds bottom wasn’t an offence as it lasted “less than 10 seconds”

The case involves a 17-year-old student at a Rome high school.

She described walking up a staircase to class with a friend, when she felt her trousers fall down, a hand touching her buttocks and grabbing her underwear.

"Love, you know I was joking," the man told her when she turned around.

After the incident, which happened in April 2022, the student reported the caretaker, 66-year-old Antonio Avola, to police.

He admitted to groping the student without consent, but said it was a joke.

A Rome public prosecutor asked for a three-and-a-half year prison sentence but this week the caretaker was acquitted of sexual assault charges. According to the judges, what happened "does not constitute a crime" because it lasted less than 10 seconds.

What’s going on here guys? Dan thinks it’s shocking we cannot safeguard our children from pervy old men. What do you think?

It’s disgusting if someone puts their hands on my body without me wanting them to then regardless of if it’s for 1 minute or 10 mins it’s fucking wrong.

What’s worrying is people in power like the judge think this kind of way..

Dan, this is not how you report the "news". Never give "evidence".

Also. It's bullshit. 10 seconds is a ridiculous length of time to be touching another person without consent unless you're in a tube train or a lift and have no choice.

(I'm not being entirely serious with that last part)

Hmmm. So if someone sexaully assaults me in Italy I need to stop twisting and digging my nails in and release their genitals at 9 seconds. Gotcha.
