Police in Poland have set up a squad of police to shoot bears with rubber bullets in a town called Lesko which is actually in the Polish mountains in bear country. They will fire rubber bullets at the bears so that they associate humans with pain rather than food. Will it work or will we see revenge attacks by bears. What's going on here guys. It's all over the news

No it will not work at all

It will only anger the bear

Depending on what rubber builts they fireing

308 Lupua or 50 cal maybe so

But other than that will not do much damage

556 and 762x39 barely brake though the a blistics gel dummy

And I would say a bears skin and fur is much thicker then a humans

What is needed is negotiation… sit down with the bears and talk through their issues… they aren’t teenage looters so shouldn’t be shot with rubber bullets…. And someone will know for sure but brown bears arent Grizzly bears i think they are different - Grizzlies are much much bigger…. Brown bears are instantly recognisable by their red wellingtons blue duffel coats and hats… and they smell strongly of marmalade.

There will be no plotting about it the bear will just attack kentucky ballistics only just about 4 months ago did a test with rubber bullets

On a blistic labs dummy

Basically it’s a dummy made off blistic gel with bones and organs and stuff to mimic a real life human as close as they can get

All small calber hand guns bonced off

44 mag penetration was about 1-2cm and bonced out

556 and 762x39 went in about a inch or 2 didn’t go deep nuff to damage organs or bone

308 win mag or laupu basically the same round and 50cal blow right on though

Now a bears skin is thicker and has fur

If small cal rubber builts just bounce off humens not going to do much damage to deter a bear that bear is just going to attack

I don't agree with it ,What if the bear gets hit in the eye and blinded.

What if the bear does not run away scared and attacks instead are they then going to kill it ?

From one article i read on it the bears have been attracted in the first place by humans leaving food scraps around the following is what the mayor said.

The best action that the public can take to keep bears away from built-up areas is to securely dispose of food waste and ensure that rubbish containers are properly sealed.

“By leaving scraps in various places, forest animals will have easy access to food,” said Tomasz Matuszewski, the mayor of Sanok, quoted by PAP.

Don't aim at the head, aim low at the body mass.its not just the impact it's the bang of the round detonating that scares bears. They are only dangerous if they have a cub with them and feel threatened.Would you rather have bears killing people/kids?

We deal with Blackbears all the time. Our bear gun is a semi out 12 gauge with slugs. It's a common defense weapon. But you are right with black ears you do not mess with momma. Usually firing rounds into the air scares them off. I had a momma and cubs in the yard 2 weeks ago I just left kept a eye on the and let them go about their day. It was cute.

"These are brown bears aka also known as grissly bears. The most ferocy bear on the planet. "

The bears in Poland are likely to be European brown bears and are not the same as grizzly bears.

Grizzly is a collective name for a number of different brown bear subspecies found in North America.
