East Sussex

In the 70s I used to take £10 on a night out and probably came home with money. Times change, my dad is constantly telling me that in 1942 butter was 1d.

It's not that expensive round here but Hastings has a high level of poverty and low wage earners.

Essex

I worked in a town centre bar while doing my A levels, it was 68p for a pint of Hieniken and 74p for Stella. The bitter and light and dark ale were around the 50p mark. Boddingtons was the dearest ale at 64p.

Spirits sole by Gil measure
