Try somebody else in the store, then try the manager, then try the area manager, then trading standards.

They can't sell you faulty goods. That's both ridiculous and unlawful. How are you supposed to find out something doesn't work before you open the box?

Their is also a return policy that has to be met by a certain number of days after that depending how the guarantee works

There's also a "fit for purpose" clause and if it doesn't work, it's not fit for purpose.

Curry's is the worst place to buy anything from. I wouldn't even trust them to sell me a banana.

Sorry, got ahead of myself with my dismay of them. Stand your ground with them and expect them to put it right

Very wrong. Every retailer must honour the statutory warranty under the consumer rights Act.

You had to open package to find out that it didn't work. It's hardly rocket science.

Go back into the store singing the tune Lovefool by The Cardigans with your microphone plugged into a bluetooth speaker that you've strapped to your chest.

Staff will soon notice that the microphone isn't working when can't hear you properly and will issue a refund.

Nope, they have to rectify it under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
