I find it strange the people will take endless about of time chatting with you and once you share a photo they block instantly without a word...

How do you feel with this happens and how often do you block peeps and why ?

Always curious to find what others have experienced!

Maybe they didn't like your photo, I've blocked many for the same reasons.

It's a useful tool not to contact those you don't want to or want them to contact you or see in your updates.

I've never really blocked people before, I do now.

I just either can't be arsed talking to you, the thought of you looking at my pics just creeps me out or you're an annoying twat.

If i message someone and they clearly give me a no.. i will block them just so i dont bother them again. Nothing nasty. I do block those that are cunts about it as well, and I block those that block me (clearly they dont want to talk to me so easy fixed).

If we've been talking I don't often block without telling you why, it's not hard to politely say I'm not interested. If people are rude, continue to hassle me, or obsessively view my profile after a "no thanks" I'll block. That said I do preventatively block bigots and people whose profiles make clear they won't interested in me (no hairy men, fat men, bi men etc).

Carlisle usually

I probably block in double figures most weeks.

I never used to, I used to only block the absolute twats and irredeemable arseholes. But my inbox is a much nicer place now I don't have to see the same tripe from the same people I've already expressed a complete lack of interest in every few weeks.

If I’ve been chatting to someone and it’s not going anywhere, I tend to tell them.

Problem is quite often you get some abuse back after this and get accused of wasting peoples time.

This is why lots of people just block.

It wouldn't bother me tbh. If there's someone that doesn't want to interact with me anymore I'm more than happy to be blocked rather than ignored.

Various reasons:

Didn't like your photo.

The conversation is going nowhere / is becoming boring and time consuming.

The one party to the chat, thinks that because there's been a bit of ongoing chat that a connection has been made, which will lead to a meet. It may be that the other party was just replying out of politeness.

Any party is allowed to back out /change their mind at any stage.

If a meet is unlikely to happen, it's a way of avoiding a similar conversation happening again in the future.

One party to the chat has started getting pushy / wierd / rude / obnoxious / vulgar / psychopathic.

I would not block anyone simply because I didn’t find them attractive, especially after chatting for a while. That could hurt someone’s feelings and self confidence plus I wouldn’t like to be treated like that myself.

I seem to have been very lucky in comparison, I only seem to have messages from friendly people who will accept ‘no’ for an answer in a polite and easy going manner. Yes some will pop up again every so often to see if things are different but off they go again then with no rudeness or abuse whatsoever.

There really are some lovely kind and genuine people on here who have now become good friends.

As for Tinder etc..that’s just a melting pot of all sorts

We've never blocked after seeing a pic of someone ,you can just say sorry not for me and then block.

Some may be worried that they'll get abuse if they say no ,or they might have known you and panicked.

It seems a bit harsh to me though if you've chatted a while.

Somewhere in Co. Down

I don't block that often anymore. I have tight filters so rarely get messages that are bad enough for me to block anyone.

I have never blocked anyone after we chatted and they sent a face pic. I'd prefer to tell someone I didn't feel the attraction rather than just block.

I keep trying. It doesn’t work. I now just report you instead.

Also, if someone doesn't reply to a wink within 14 minutes it's a block. Rules are rules.

They probably didn't find you attractive or didn't like the photo

Nothing strange about it, people are allowed to block as and when they wish
