"Apparently a cancer charity have suggested that a vagina now be called a “bonus hole” so not to offend non binary or trans people. Is there a chance that this is going just a tiny bit too far or is it ok? What do you think?" Crikey... Surely a vagina is a vagina that's it's anatomical name.

A *although they might get sued by the lottery people.......

"It was suggested as a term for artificial vaginas, as far as I understand. Women born women have vaginas And trans who have had surgery have bonus holes. Women can get cervical cancer and trans women don't. It's not been suggested that a woman born a woman calls her vagina 'bonus hole' Was it suggested on April 1st ?" It was suggested 3 years ago, the frothy mouthed element are trying to make it viral.

In the glossary of terms for the charity it doesn’t mention artificial just “an alternative word for the vagina.” Apparently they also suggested “front hole”

"I'd just like one week without trans people being the target. " I don’t think they’re being targeted. It’s people trying to second guess what other people think the term should be. This isn’t trans people suggesting it

"Apparently a cancer charity have suggested that a vagina now be called a “bonus hole” so not to offend non binary or trans people. Is there a chance that this is going just a tiny bit too far or is it ok? What do you think?" Well I'm glad I'm not called Brucey Bonus anymore

"I think artificial vagina would be less offensive to everyone. Or fauxgina." I vote for fauxgina , although as I have a vagina my opinion is probably moot.

So yeah, trans people are the actual target here.

"Yes great idea let’s make the whole world change what they have been calling something for as long as can remember as to not upset a few easily offended fuckiwits Succinctly put bravo " I'm really glad feel wonderfully, comfortable in your own bodies. I'm sorry that you can't try to empathise with someone who has never felt comfortable in their own body, who has been repulsed and suicidal because the changes in their body goes against everything they feel they should be... I can imagine it's not easy, I can't imagine what it feels like for you (other than freeing I guess, in a way I'll never feel)... Let me try and help....have you ever had to wear something that left you constantly aware of how uncomfortable or embarrassed you were? (That peach ruffley bridesmaid dress, the joke Laderhosen etc etc)... Try and imagine that, but all the time, 24/7 and it's not an outfit, it's your own skin. The charity suggested possible terms that could be used with trans men and non-binary persons while talking about or having a smear/cancer treatments. While I don't like the term personally and it makes me feel even less comfortable with *down there*, being non binary and having days of immense gender dysphoria, I can completely understand why changing the language used helps some people.

"Funny thing is "bonus hole" seems very patronising, condescending, and almost as if it's a joke in the first place being used to make fun of trans women all in the name to pander and appear inclusive. " The charity deals with cervical cancer... The suggestion of change of language is around trans people. But they are AFAB so trans men and non binary persons. Nothing to do with trans women at all.

" It’s more the choice of words “the bonus hole” almost has comedy overtones. At a very basic level it’s a crap phrase!

"It’s more the choice of words “the bonus hole” almost has comedy overtones. At a very basic level it’s a crap phrase! " Oh like I said, I don't like it personally... I tend to go with *down there* and a vague gesture on days I'm struggling and perfectly fine with vagina on others. But the trans gentleman above has commented on how he has used the term for himself in the past... And sometimes the darkest of humour gets us through the bad times...

It’s a name of a body part if they named it a ‘bonus’ it sounds like people with one have achieved something more than others.

Plus, the whole world? " Not at all not sure how on Earth anyone can see any offence in a sarcastic post. And yes the whole world was a deliberate over exaggeration, but I admit after reading the following posts I made the wrong assumption based on the limited information in the original post. I’m all for anyone doing are being whatever the fuck they want to be I just draw the line at the rest of society having to change to suit those and the offended by everything brigade

Bluntly, you need to work on your comprehension skills or you're putting words into my mouth I didn't say. I didn't say anyone who disagrees with the phrase is far right. What I said was this suggestion from 2020 is being hyped by the far right for the reason I cited above.
