When you don't wink back

When someone winks you and you don't wink back does that burn your bridges with them in the future?

We often get winked by people/couples who we would totally be intrested in. However we're very busy and don't really use fab to arrange meets. We're much more club swingers. So often we just not in the right place at that time to engage with new people and we don't want to engage in something that we've not really got the time to invest in at this point in time. So we don't wink back or message. However if we were to bump into them at a club or out or actually we're in a good place to meet we'd love to make their acquaintance.

So would our none response to your wink put you off us in the future?

I don't think it should. What people are looking on here can change on a weekly basis, especially couples.

I don't think people would be put off by not returning a wink, and if on the future you find the time for them just send a message.

We’d never remember who winked and who didn’t so I don’t really think it matters when you meet in real life

No. We don't always have the time. When we do, we sometimes go back though winks and messages. Otherwise we might see your profile and when we click on it we see that there has been some winking at an earlier date. Then we may message to see whether we could get together.

I don’t wink because I can’t see the purpose.

However, surely if someone winks and you think you may be interested, why not send a wink back as a “holding “ gesture?

I see loads of people saying here they they get too many messages etc.

If I wink & they ignore- crack on as they're not interested & they/you can ignore or delete.

Simples!!

Nah too many variables with winks, some want a wink back, others want messages. I've replied to both previously and it was just a waste of time.

I take this on board and appreciate some here are needy!

I only expect a wink back if interested & go from there- like the old poke mentioned above

It’s an interesting one.

Guess different people have their own idea of the etiquette.

For me, it’s a ‘hello’, or an appreciation of the profile I’m looking

On my old couples profile, we wouldn’t wink if the winkees weren’t for us. In case it sent the wrong message. So supposed need to bear in how others take it.

Best not to look into it too seriously.

We only ignore a wink when it comes from someone who's a couple of hundred miles away, and it's almost ridiculous that they winked in the first place.

I have a look through every so often when I'm in a place to possibly wink back, as you say there's times where it could be right people wrong time.

All those who say you'd forget who you winked it shows at the top of their profile "winked 2 months ago" or whenever it was.

Getting a wink is such a rare event so deserves a wink back. Doesn’t mean anything in my experience though.

I consider winks I receive as an invitation to send a message. Generally has worked ok and have had some interesting conversations as a result of doing so.
