If it’s not a fuck yes, is it a no?

I’ve often heard the above and bought into it for a period of time so lots of things have been a no.

But now I’m not so sure.

Is it better to say yes to some things with an air of uncertainty and hope it works out than say no and miss out altogether.

Meeting people off here, doing something new, taking a chance...

What’s your approach?

Without ever taking a chance, how do you know for certain?

I tend to gauge everything as I find it. Sometimes it's a "fuck yes" and sometimes it's a "no"

You have to listen to your gut instinct sometimes x

I would rather regret the things I've done.

Than get to the end of my life and regret the things I didn't do.

It has to be a fuck yes when we chat on the phone.

The rest you can figure out in person, attractions can vary and change depending on the interaction.

That initial yes has to be there, of course, but for me, we have to click intellectually, emotionally and personally.

If that is there, the rest will follow.

It's all in the eyes anyway, where the fun starts and ends.

But most things I'm more... well, I'm quite prone to pondering things. And I was quite prone to doubting myself. Now I'm finding myself saying yes to more things - it's so much fun actually embracing things. The issue I have now is I don't have an infinite amount of time and can't do everything that's suggested.

So now I'm saying no to more things while trying to say yes to the right things for me. Without overthinking or telling myself I shouldn't go for it. When something is a fuck yes though? I'm leaping at the chance. Outcome be damned.

If my initial thoughts are no then it's a no.

If I'm a bit iffy then I'll usually at least try because you never know especially as an overthinker I can put myself of so many situations that could have been good because my head's taken over once I relax I'm generally good.

If I am a bit lack lustre about something I’m not about to put my time and energy into it.

As I’ve gotten older I’ve less time for thinking I need to do something I’m not really up for doing just because someone thinks I should or I’ll be made to feel guilty if I don’t.

I know myself and what I want - that said had I not taken the opportunity for an impromptu coffee date last year I wouldn’t be with the person I am now, I wouldn’t say I took a chance on him though as I just had a gut feeling from the start he’d be pretty special xx
