"I've started back at the gym (again!) but I find it so boring. I find myself watching the seconds go by when I'm on the bike/rower/treadmill etc. I used to attend exercise classes such as combat and HIIT which I absolutely loved and never once felt bored or lost motivation but they aren't on anymore. What do you do to keep yourself motivated and keep the momentum of going to the gym and doing exercise whilst you're there? Listen to certain music? listen to a podcast? Get inspiration from those around you? Looking for some ideas please." Netflix when doing cardio, podcasts when on machines

"Truthfully find a type of training that you enjoy and look forward to and don’t have to motivate yourself to do. I’d personally just use walking/getting the steps in as the cardio part of the routine and replace the cardio at the gym with a structured weights routine that focuses on progressive overload ( progressive overload makes training more fun as well as far more effective) the results will be far better as well than just focussing on cardio" I simply don’t do it if it’s boring , there’s no point it ain’t going to last. Go back to the classes or try something else. Progressive overload is fantastic if you want to gain muscle but if you’re doing it right you eat everything in sight ! I gained 15kg doing it
