They thought the meet was shit, or they don’t want to be linked to/associated with your profile.

There are as many reasons as there are people so no point in listing them.

The best solution to this is to ask why they haven't verified but my guess is that your friend would simply be ignored if they did that .....

There are some 'cause célèbre' within Fab who would incur the wrath of vile messages, unsurmountable winks and general harrassment if they received a verification.

Once, ages ago, I left a verification for someone and she received a few unsavoury messages from disgruntled men whose advances she had declined. She no longer bothers with verifications.

They don't feel verifications are necessary, unless someone has none, then it will help that person.

I don't see the need to be verified by everyone I meet, and never ask for one.

If someone asks I'll usually give one, but it will only reflect how they behaved with me.

Did they ask you for a verification?

I agree. Neither I need one nor I ask for one but I’ll happily verify if they ask (they usually ask).

Just curious as it has happened more than few times very recently so I was wondering what the reason might be, apart from being a shit shag, apparently.

What actual purpose do veris actually serve?

Would it be more accurate on occasion to call them validations?

I get asked a lot not to leave a verification from people as they are worried of negative views towards them

hiding from cock pics.

They may have verified you back but because of filters the verification won't go through. If they are outside your filters you won't be able to receive a veri from them, regardless of how many times they send it.

Also, some people are just not bothered about verifications, and therefore don't write or return them.

They might be more private, they might not want people to know their movements, or they just don't feel the verification system is something they want to use.

I understand the need for verifications, you don't want to know you're meeting one of the nutters. Personally, I don't like them. What I do with anyone else is no-one else's business but mine and the person I met.

I understand that this means plenty will dismiss my profile immediately, but so be it.

Because they can read like something from tripadvisor or ebay.

I think I'd feel a bit hurt by this, if I'd written one for them but they didn't return the favour.

My first thought would be I must have been a let down and they don't want to say! Paticularly if they've left them for others.

The reality is that it's probably not that at all.

Sometimes it happens. Sometimes people just don't think about them. Verifications aren't really that big a deal. I mean it's someones perception and doesn't really mean anything.

If your friend is still communicating with this person then that to me is much more of an indication as to how things went and way more important.

Also it gives the opportunity to ask them about it.

They definitely shouldn't take it personally.

I can only talk from my personal experiences.

Back in the day when i was single of someone didn’t leave me a veri it became apparent it was because they didn’t want to be associated with me which does hurt.

Even if you read through our veris now I am acknowledged on there though occasionally it raises the question of if I was there at all.

Maybe this is a male thing, i don’t know but I’m not going to let it keep me up at night.

On a few occasions in the past yes, but not anymore. I verify if they ask.

It’s the very recent phenomena hence my confusion.

"What are the reasons people don’t verify back?

Asking for a very confused friend "

Some people don't like receiving or displaying verifications as they like to keep their meets private, some I know don't like giving them as the dsplay of the veri may result in others getting in touch cos they think that person is 'easy/available'.

Some filters can stop people from verifying you, I've found this from social veris, I have to drop all my filters to get them from newbies etc, easier to actually ask the person

I don't verify now if it wasn't good. I've lied and exaggerated on previous verifications and realised I was doing other site members a disservice. I will let others find out for themselves because it may well have just been me, my expectations or the mood on the day that led me to being disappointed and others may have an amazing time. I prefer to say nothing at all in these instances.

When I was meeting as a single woman ,I'd only not leave a veri if I felt they'd misrepresented themselves in some way to me.

Ie the bloke who was more like 58 than 38.

Some don't like them,I guess if It bothered me I'd maybe ask them why.

Some people just don’t like doing veris. Or find them difficult to write. Or forget. Or can’t be arsed. Or worry about what some random other person might think of they see it.

I guess, as with most things, if you want to know why a person has or hasn’t done something then you really need to ask them. We’re all just guessing here.

(You’re definitely not a shit shag by the way, Dee. Far from it.)

There are so many reasons Op.

I know I'm not the best at returning veris because of, well, reasons. If it matters to you, ask them. They'll be able to tell you why better than a random bunch of people speculating, as amusing as it can be.

I hate veri's. I think only one is necessary to say who you actually are. As someone said, they are more like 'ratings'. They often sound 'braggy' and are pointless and unnecessary. Did i say i hate them?...um yes i do.

Not everyone leaves feedback on eBay as they can’t be arsed, probably the same here. And some of the very blunt, but true, reasons above.

I've met someone on numerous occasions, he always says it's good, I love meeting you, blah blah blah, but never once has he left a veri, yet ladies he meets just once he leaves them one, I'm thinking now I "was" just someone he could call on when no one else was around.

Notice I said "was" ,

Decided enough is enough

Not everyone wants the fab world to know what a whore they really are, or maybe they were lowering their average score for the cums that day. Hopefully it isn't ones personality or sexual ineptitude and god forbid personal hygiene. Perhaps ones accent was simply irritating or one laughed in the wrong place in awkward verbal paralasis. It is best to just assume they forgot you, one of many conquests that day, or better still they got into an accident on the way home, or maybe got mugged and lost their phone. You see how the more one thinks about it, the worse it gets. Just send a single reminder about what was good about your encounter and if they don't read it, block them and move on. They did not use one for immediate sexual gratification, as much as one was the one who used them for ones own.

Did they display your friends veri? If they did and didn’t verify in return that’s just fucking rude. How long has it been? Admittedly I’ve returned some weeks late veris due to life happening…

If your friend provided a veri and they haven’t displayed it and didn’t provide a veri in return then there are many reasons - it might have connected your profiles and they don’t want that, jealous acquaintances and they don’t want to reveal they met you, it might have been too explicit, revealed details like names, they don’t ‘believe’ in veris, haven’t got round to doing the Fabmin…. Any number of factors.

Or the uncomfortable truth that it wasn’t that great a meet - at least they haven’t blocked your friend yet..

It depends on if he's displayed the one he was given or not.

If he hasn't I'd assume he's not verifying back as there's someone he doesn't want it to be seen by.

If he's displayed his I might not think the same and would be a bit confused.

Some guys just find them hard to write and may stall for a good while while they think about what to actually say on it. Or they just don't get round to it.
