I used to work on cruise ships so met a lot of B-list celebs. Roy Walker, Tom O'connor, Bodger and Badger, Ricky Hatton, Little and Large (dickheads) Lee Meade (before he was famous) a lot are genuine people but some are arrogant prices, worst were Gary Rhodes, Marco Pierre-White amd Clive Anderson.

They're not Trump sized by any stretch.

I've met him and have a photo of him shaking hands with my dad for comparison. Look normal sized and that was long before mobile phones with wide angle lenses that make things look out of proportion.

Not sure Hillary Clinton is in the same category as Rolf Harris!!

Mine is Boris Johnson. Sadly, he is more charming and engaging than I wanted him to be. I can see why he can sell snake oil so well.

What is the obsession with celebrity?

I don’t understand what people get from having been in the presence of, or being seen with, someone who is famous for something you’re not part of.

OK, if it’s incidental to what you do, but why do you need anyone else to know about it?

Met both Peter Davidson and Collin Baker at Comic-Con and had long chats about the work they did on Doctor Who, got photos and copies of five doctors and three doctors signed.

Met Jack Black at download in 2012, saw Tenacious D on the main stage and ten mins after they finished I went to one of the burger stalls and while smoking something the guy infront of me sniffed up and turned round.. Jack black is stood in front of me waiting for a burger

What do you do at parties once you have listed the celebrities you have met? Move on to someone else until they all fall asleep?

Seriously, what does it do for you?

Bowie holding a sheet of paper containing the lyrics of Bewlay Brothers and some handwritten notes. I wanted to ask him for it but was worried he might be an arse. Someone else asked, he smiled, said sure and handed them over. Still kicking myself 22 years later.

"You have met and had a conversation with?

When i left school in 1974 i worked for Virgin records as a trainee sound engineer. I left Virgin in 1979, so have met and worked with a lot of famous people, some i liked, most i didn't.

One person i not only liked a lot but became a personal friend was Frank Zappa after i left Virgin and went freelance. In fact i worked with him during the 1980's in LA doing analogue to digital conversions of his earlier albums. A great guy with a razor like sense of humour and i was very honoured to not only work with him, but to be invited to his funeral in 1993.

I also met and became good friends with Tony Benn in the mid 1990's. I was never a fan of his in the 1970's lol and i told him that on many an occasion. He was always lambasted by the media as a left wing communist, which i fully believed. However, after meeting and talking (sometimes well into the early hours) it became obvious to me he was niether a communist or even left wing. He was a patriot and a socialist, nothing more and nothing less. When my wife died in 2010 he came to her funeral, as i did to his in 2014.

Sometimes it's nothing about "who you have met" but it's everything about how that meeting shapes your life, both Frank and Tony certainly shaped my life.

Have met a number of celebs over the years with my job.

Some exceeded how I perceived them, some even popped the kettle on and had a good old chat.

It's just the footballers that I found conceited and came across with a sort of do you know who I am attitude.

I have heard of you, yes, but all you do is kick a ball for money.

I don’t recall any record of Tony Blair working in the catering industry and it’s unlikely that he brought tea and coffee into any meeting you were holding with his shadow cabinet.
