Are you or were you sporty?

And why isn’t Rounders a serious recognised professional sport, because I’d have been awesome at that that!

I always used to be quite average at every sport I tried. Not completely amazing but not totally shit either. Football, cricket, and table tennis are probably my best sports though. I just wish I had more time to play them!

Yeah I was. Played rugby at a good level, and tripe jump. Did some power lifting competitions as I got older. Gonna get back into that one after recovering from a couple of surgeries

I was at one point. Played netball three times a week, to county level while at school.

Am I now? No. Not at all! My close friend plays netball now and I keep toying with the idea of joining again as there's a group very close to me who seem really lovely and inclusive. I might just stick to lifting and cardio until I lose a couple more stones though.

I was certainly more sporty than I am now.

Played rugby at a decent level back in my youth but the thought of being body slammed by someone twice my weight now sends shudders down my spine. Back then I couldn’t care less. Brushes and broken bones were trophies

Just the odd run and gym time ethic I’m hoping you can class as sporty though probably not

Its called Baseball pretty much to be fair, so partially serious and recognised.

Sporty, no never. At least not the conventional and highly competitive team sports.

Yeah I’m sporty. Or was.

Used to play tennis and cricket weekly. Then football when I got older. I did swimming when I was younger but I hated it after a while.

I miss playing tennis and cricket a lot. Need someone to play tennis with. But I still play football with my friends.

I was. Quite high level.

It's why sex in any position in winter other than me being a lazy bastard and laying flat on my back is hard work and painful, because too many injuries, fucked knees, cartilage issues, arthritis at 40 etc........

Now? A bit of horizontal jogging every now and then and I could probably cope with a game of darts or shove ha'penny.

Sucks being old.

Was in to Motocross racing and enduro through my late teens 20s and 30s very hard on the body physically, many injuries but as to be expected

I like to keep fit still and keep kickboxing up

Been into martial arts since a kid with karate

As an adult and to back up the fitness needed for MX Iv trained in Muay Thai, boxing and MMA and briefly Krav Maga,

Mr

Mrs has always kept fit and trains now still

Briefly done Krav Maga with Mr

Without going into to much details with the Mrs job fitness was mandatory

Both carry injuries but wouldn’t change a thing

Manchester-ish

I did club level swimming and played both codes of rugby as a schoolboy.

A bit of canoe polo at uni.

Sunday league and 5-a-side football after graduating then, weightlifting and indoor rowing in 'Masters' (35) age groups.

Only ever average, at best, at any of them, but I do have a trophy for weightlifting and a couple of medals for rowing.

I will join the Fab canoe polo team if that's okay, that was a lot of fun, and maybe a bit of football as well, but people tend to take that a bit too seriously.

North Norfolk area

At school.... Rugby, basketball and athletics (well Discus anyway) all county level, plus school cricket.

Played Services rugby, and then club until my last game at 42......there are days when I really struggle to get out of bed.

Played cricket until 50.

These days I shoot (Game, Widfowl and clays) and fish (coarse and sea).

Still miss rugby even now, often find feet and body moving when watching in my armchair

Wouldn't have missed any of it!

Yeah, I'm pretty sporty. Even more so when I was younger, but still play a decent 5-a-side each week and a bit of tennis (rustily) and squash (even more rustily). Not counting the gym as a sport, but I do like a bit of Olympic Weightlifting so I guess that does.

I was a bit of a jack of all trades at school: good enough to get into most teams, but never the stand out player.

And I am with you on Rounders, OP. Count me in for the Fab Rounders social.

Swimming. Always loved it. I swim a mile 4/5 times a week. Keeps me in good shape and gives me time to myself, without the noise of the world.

Always been sporty. Football and cricket as a child. A bit of running which I hated but was ok at it. As an adult it’s been racket sports starting with squash and then moving into tennis, which I’ve played for over 20 years and continue to do so on a regular basis.
