Everything that's happened in the last few months has been pretty unexpected. I've had so many fab outings over the years but this one is the best.

Our experiences here have been very mixed.

By far the most heartfelt and touching for me was having a group of people keep me company - via messages - when I was sat in the car during the early part of lock down, waiting to hear if my child was still alive (I wasn’t allowed in the hospital). I was terrified and anxious and frustrated at being kept outside, and the group from here made me laugh and tried to keep me distracted. Our little one was induced later that day, and by the evening I was the world’s proudest dad. What the group did for me that morning meant more than I have words to say, and at the time I thought a couple of those people would be very special, long term friends. At least that’s how I viewed them. Unfortunately, none of those people will speak to me now, and some I think even have me blocked - all for reasons I still don’t and probably never will understand. They probably don’t even remember.

Regardless, I will always be grateful for the kindness and support on that day.

I found my best friend (Nell) and so many other great people I consider friends (you know who you are)

I also found acceptance, understanding and the confidence to be myself.

This is really beautiful and poignant. I had a similar experience when I found out my dad died as I was driving down the motorway. Those three friends will always have my love, regardless of what's happened or will happen.

I hope your little one is bringing you pride and joy with every new day, x
