Never apologise for being yourself

It's in the title!

If people dislike you being you, that's on them. For them to deal with. Don't be somebody you are not to appease others. They need to adjust and adapt to your presence.

Even if you are a total wank bag.

However do apologise if you said something shitty, and genuinely feel remorse for being a wank bag.

But don't do it if others tell you to do so.

I kinda agree with this, people should always be themselves.

If someone doesn't like you they don't need to adjust though, they can just not be around you.

Wait for all the guys agreeing with this then contradicting themselves elsewhere.

I agree, albeit with a caveat. Sure, we should all be ourselves. But hopefully we can both be ourselves and mindful of our impact on others, and therefore try not to be wank bags. Bit of self regulation. If we all genuinely act as if we're the only one that matters, the world would be pretty awful.

I'm actually really bad for saying sorry when I shouldn't apologise. But I do actually mean it when i say it.

I've just been conditioned to believe that everything is my fault and I should feel guilty and apologise for it all. So I do.

Some gorgeous people are trying to recondition me though

My daughter said to me today “Saying sorry all the time is a sign of past trauma, did you know?”

I didn’t actually, and it hit me hard.

I was just about to say something similar.

Too many people are quick to say they don't give a fuck what others think of them but more often than not they themselves don't give a fuck what they say to others.

They've usually got a get out clause saying "I'm a cunt! Deal with it!"

I do care what those people I like think of me.

Everyone else is irrelevant but I don't need to announce my presence or have to be the loudest person in the room.

If they accept me as I am well and good.

If they don't we won't be in each others company very long so it hardly matters.

irrelevant

I used to be painfully passive / doormat/walkover. Now I'm a hardass bitch. It's really really hard to find the balance of being kind AND assertive but we never stop learning , I'll get there

All over

It all depends what that means. Be yourself yes learn from your mistakes and grow also great but if it means some of your actions are inappropriate or hurt others or you always behave in a vaccum without consideration to others, then personally I don't believe that not reflecting on that and not apologising is a great personality trait

I apologise a lot. I'm insecure and constantly never feel good enough. I am realising though that the only person that holds back is me so I need to stop it.

I need to be unapologetically just me far more.

I'll get there eventually.

Aww Kai! This may be fuelled by tequila and kisses and flirting and rum but yeah...

I apologise a lot for being me. For being too much, for talking how I do (waffling). And to be really honest, I'm fucking exhausted with it. I'm not a bad person. And I don't think I should keep apologising for being me. It's not really fair and every time I say sorry for being me, I feel like I should shrink. Dim my light a bit. And that's wank. I don't hate me. So maybe I'm going to keep spending time with people who love me, embrace me for being me. Tonight really reminded me how much fun I can have, when I'm not erasing or editing myself so I can fit someone's ideal version of me.

And I kind of like it.
