Friends. How many of us have them?

Somewhat inspired by reality tv dramas and the fact that fab feels like a reality tv show sometimes:

Does it bother you if your friends are friends with people you don’t fuck with? Does it make you weary or anxious or whatever? Or do you not care?

Life has taught me that my mum was right and you can’t trust some friends as far as you can throw them. Is that the saying?

I dont let people close enough to be real friends anymore they are just people i know who i catch up with from time to time that way im not bound to loyalty to too many people that it stretches me too thin

I have one close-ish friend, but even she doesn't know everything about me, I don't think anyone does.

It's easier to be unsociable.

So with my childhood friends there is 4 of us. Two have argued to the point they don't talk at all. It's kinda awkward with big events such as weddings etc. But I don't see them resolving it which does make me sad to be honest.

People confuse friends and acquaintances. A friend will act as you in the absence of you when you need it. The others will act for themselves.

I'm not fussed about who my friends are friends with, but due to past experience it can make me more closed mouthed with certain people. If that makes sense.

The people I have in my life as friends, they're pretty awesome. So I like to believe that if they're friends with someone then that person must be at least decent, as I trust their judgement on the whole.

There aren't actually many people I don't like, and if people don't like me then as long as they're not actively nasty, that's cool.

I hear this completely. I think I’d be the same. Just more cautious about what I say.

I second this. I think I have "Friends" that are somewhere between friends and acquaintances.

But I'm definitely with lilith it's just far easier to not be sociable overall.

Honest, my small friend group (4 of us) will eventually drift from people who don't mesh with the rest of us. There was actually 5 of us but one ghosted us just over a year ago after 14/15 years of friendship and him doing that made the rest of us closer

Have a small group of mates i grew up with, they all fall out with each other and made up at some point i seem to be the only one that doesn't fall out with any of them. Sometimes things happen that make you realise who is really there for you and a few things over the years have made me realise they are so I wouldn’t worry about them being friendly with someone I hated ect most are there when it counts

I have only one really close friend. 4 years now we know each other. Our kids are similar age. Met her through work. best places I assume to make friends haha

We grab a coffee every few months and same with calls. Since we know, our life’s can be hectic, this is the best what work for us. She’s 9y older than me. but I love her to bits
