Torquay

I was offered the alternative of pulling out my own finger nails with a pair of rusty old pliers and chose that over watching Les Mis......

Oh my mistake, and im sure all the fans of this musical will forgive me, but i dont fancy watching anything with the word miserable in the title.

Tried to watch it on Saturday night...we lasted about 10 minutes before we turned it off and watched Django Unchained (again !)

I love the book too, just hate fucking musicals !

Its like marmite, you either love it...or hate it.

As for musicals, i hate most and wouldnt see something like that abba crap or f...ing sound of music but les mis is different....to me anyways

I much prefer this version...

No bloody singing, for starters

Well i went last night and few critisisms ..

I didnt like her who played cossette, she sounded like a chipmunk on speed and russel crow was a wash out as javere.

Thought hugh jackman was brilliant and ann hathaway .

The cinema was packed and you could have heard a pin drop when it was on.

Brilliant film

I loved it and will be going again!

I have to point out I am a hairy arssed rugby playing lorry driver who drinks real ale and think a good curry is high dining (lol)

About five years ago I was dragged kicking and screaming like a petulant five year old to see the ballet Swan Lake. I loved it and now go as often as I can to the ballet. I have since tried opera (not keen) plays, musicals and even Shakespeare (again not keen) and am now hooked on the thearter including musicals. I have learnt never to dismiss anything without trying it first

I loved it. Another film that surprised me was Anna Karenina, most of the film was in a theatre setting, another novel concept to get used to but was wonderful once you got past the initial differences.
