"It's been YEARS since I watched it but I liked event horizon. But TBF, the shittier it is, the better when it comes to sci fi (for me)" Event Horizon was a great movie and, I think, destined to become a cult classic.

The tv version was ok and the film was worse.

" Adams wrote the first draft script, but died before production started so ‘heavily’ is a bit of a stretch.

"My list of the four most important science fiction films, each of which changed the shape of the genre: Metropolis Forbidden Planet 2001: A Space Odyssey Blade Runner My contention is that while there are many other excellent SF movies, these are the four that had the biggest influence on everything that came after them." I wouldn't disagree, but I think at the same level there are the 1953 War of the Worlds and the original Star Wars

"Soylent Green......other than that they made the stuff from human bodies, couldn't tell you a damn thing about it! " Charlton Heston was in it and his old friend got a 20 minute video of blue sky and deer and stuff before he was euthanised. That’s all I can remember of it.

"Ad astra - one of the worst sci-fi films I’ve ever seen. " Watched that the other night. I was expecting great things. It failed to reach my expectations. It was... not good. It didn't even have the grace to be bad. Just a waste. Of time. Money. Energy. My life...

"May I nominate Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets as being a very good movie?" I'd say a very Luc Besson movie. Eye popping visuals. Utterly mad. Fabulous Cara Delevingne playing a great Laureline. Valerian just a bit of a pretty boy toy. Plot that made zero sense. Could only have been made by Besson.

"Ad astra - one of the worst sci-fi films I’ve ever seen. Absolutely. " I would add Armageddon to that. The US government hiring Bruce Willis and his oil rig buddies to fly to a meteor and blow it up! Oh, and Steven Tyler performing a song over his own daughters love scene.
