I am thinking of getting a new wig.

I am tempted by pillar box red but also wondering should I go more age appropriate... Like silver?

Is the former just ridiculously clutching at a lost youth or is the latter just admitting defeat?

Ah the age appropriate thing.

There's nothing you can wear and no hairstyle you can have that isn't age appropriate, that phrase is really only applies to under 18s. You're not desperately clinging on to your youth, you're living life how you want at the age you are now.

Go for what you want and enjoy it

I've been grappling with this myself, recently. I quite fancy a nice gothy black wig. But I've been wondering if I should get a silver-grey one and look more my age.

Sigh. I think I'm going to get the black one. If I look at women my age, loads of them feel nothing for dyeing their hair, so what the hell, why look your age? Lol

(Still thinking of getting a grey one though, and embracing life as a t-gilf).

I suppose I have to answer this selfishly: if you were meeting me for a Gin and a Fumble - with less emphasis on the gin and more on the fumble - then I would go for Pillar Box Red. More so (and probably) to assuage my own mid-life crisis and to be seen with someone more outlandish than me.

Either way, only you would put the "dish" in outlandish.
