The Yellow Stickers !!

Den of Iniquity

The shopping thread made me realise that I usually head for the green basket reduced section in Morrisons first !!

As I eat more or less anything I can then plan my meals around that ..

Also usually pick up bread and a myriad of stuff ( that I would actually eat obviously)

So are you a sucker for a yellow sticker bargain or are you too Posh

Always reduced sections first and then plan around what I find.

Side note, I can’t deal with people who pick something up and find an alternative in the reduced section and doesn’t take it back!

Way, way, way too posh for yellow stickers

In fact I dislike being around that section when the vultures descend. I don’t refer to all bargain hunters, of course, just the jostling smellies.

I’d rather have the freshest possible food with a few days grace. Just a personal preference.

I have now started online shopping and the pockets are pretty good with that.

I wait until they throw them in the bins around the back.

I’ll happily buy from the reduced , freeze it, or eat in the day.

I used to love going in Aldi at around 7pm as there'd be tons at 70% off.

Now they've dropped it to 50% and some other bugger always seems to get there first.

I am, however, addicted to 'Too Good To Go'.

Even the BK at the motorway services near us does it. And Greggs and Costa for sarnies, donuts and cakes.

As a student I would go to the butchers at 5pm on a saturday when they would auction off any remaining meat. I got so many bargains but I was easily the youngest there.

I would rather get fresh food that lasts longer as this household is so unpredictable, it would probably end up being thrown out which wouldn't be great, I'm really glad it's gets reduced and people can make use out of it Instead of the food getting wasted and going to landfill.

I love the yellow sticker section but wouldn't buy fresh fruit and veg etc unless I needed to use it that day. I'd buy food that can be frozen if it was a good price.

I used to love an M&S visit just before closing time. I used to get so many goodies and sandwiches for next to nothing.

It's a shame but yellow stickers aren't as good these days, still very pricey most of the time. If my dad was alive he'd be very disappointed.

What a random price! Did you see them start at 10p and hold your nerve for more off? 2p per donut is the bargain of the century!

Although I was leaving (ahem) B&M once on a very sunny day and a couple with a whingeing child had had to buy a four pack of cornettos just to shut the little bastard up. They took one each and offered me the last one!

"Depends what it is but you usually can’t get anywhere near the reduced section at our supermarket for all the vultures pushing into each other, so I don’t bother trying to look most of the time. "

"Picked up 2.4 Kg fresh Strawberries from Morrisons Clearance for £9 reduced from £12 early on Saturday morning, by Sunday midday I had turned them into 14 jars of my finest Strawberry jam.

The Clearance bay is the first place I head for every time I visit the supermarket."

I'll have a jar
