Once I went to the charity shop to look for a cardigan. Next door is an estate agent. I looked in the window and saw a house on a street I have always loved. I booked a viewing for the afternoon and put in an offer the same day. I bought it ! Unexpected item in the bagging area

That is good and yes, you got more there, but yes, it is good that you got the house that you always wanted

I never write a shopping list as I know what I want before I go. I'll pick up the odd thing if something takes my fancy though

La la land

Yes, like yesterday I bought a punnet of plums because they looked good. I had intended buying apples but they didn't look great so swapped for the better option.

Sometimes I try to limit myself by not taking a basket. I can only take what I can carry. Right ? I end up usually being offered one by a polite staff member with that pity look.

The shopping list is more of a guide. It’s got the things you know you need but the not the things you’ve always wanted

I’m terrible. I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve got out shopping with a list and come back with nothing from my actual list but several shopping bags

Not usually unless Lidl in the first section of the meat fridge where they have the limited time deals have something that looks good. I hate shopping so try and get when need and out as quickly as possible

Just popped to Sainsbury’s for milk and ham. Accidentally bought a five pack of donuts and a Frijj. It’s not the first time.

That is a good way of doing it, to not to take a basket and yes, it depends how much you can carry as well

The supermarkets have spent millions of pounds researching customer behaviour etc. the whole thing is designed to make you spend more than you intend!

Lordy it’s a rarity if I remember the list!

Sometimes I get back to the house and unpack and wonder how the hell I’m going to make a meal from the disparate items I’ve purchased! Xx

I meal plan for the week and put together a list based on that. Stick to it. Unless my 8 year old is with me. Somehow ice creams, choc mouses and doughnuts find there way into my trolly. Thankfully, im not a sweet tooth. N

I prefer to shop when I'm hungry and without a list. That way I can be surprised the next day with the mystery shopping I did.
