I shall keep the pitter-patter of my carbon footprints to a minimum and look longingly towards Åutumn.

4:30 alarm so I was up and on my way to work Nero. But I feel your discomfort. A cold bath works a treat before bed definitely more effective to keep you cooler and more comfortable in bed for longer.

Why not collect all the heat in jam jars and store it away ready for winter?

I'm all about the sun and heat when I'm awake but when it's snoozy time London is a total dickhead for it.

I promise everyone London feels about 100 degrees hotter than your shitty towns (joking someone please take me up for the night anywhere but here!)

I really hate not being able to sleep. The heat doesn't bother me so much though.

I'm trying to get to sleep by midnight every night.

I keep having to nap in the afternoons though.

I believe where I live has a microclimate that is hotter than elsewhere in the UK.

It's an idea. But I still usually sleep with the fan on during the cooler months.

Oh, I'm sorry, Nero. Caffeine is your friend today, and an afternoon nap, if you're able!

Smug basta'd over here slept like a baby (fan-assisted).

Have you tried the frozen hot water bottle trick? I don't know if it works, but maybe worth a try.

I'm having an awful time sleeping too lately and it isn't as warm here as it is in the UK so you have my sympathy. And to top my bad sleep off, my toddler decided 5am was a great time to get up today.

Sending chilly and cold vibes your way.

A week or so of lovely weather now amber alerts, hosepipe bans and the whinging pom syndrome comes out to play.

It is much needed vitamin D & long summer nights enjoy it while it lasts people as soon you will be moanig about the frozen tap, burst pipes and lack of light.

Why are people always allowed to complain about Winter but dear lord can you imagine someone complaining about the Summer. The sweet sweet beautiful Summer. No, that's not acceptable. You must embrace it even if it makes you miserable.

You'll find most people moaning about lack of light and cold in Winter are the ones who love Summer. Some people don't like Summer, and some just want to complain because it leaves them uncomfortable and that's OK. Nothing to do with moaning pom syndrome whatever that is.

We get tons of rain, a shit load of cold and precious little sunshine just trying to put it in perspective and you can work out the syndrome for yourself.

Loving it. Sitting out in the garden beneath a tree working during the day.

At night, windows wide open, no clothes, no bedclothes. In a hotter country I'd have a fan running too, but no need here.

(In winter I have the window open too - though singular not plural. Summer is my very decided preference, but there is no cosier way to sleep than beneath a duvet whose warmth is sensually accentuated by the cold of the room.)
