Summer = looking shit

Is it just me??

I swear my whole body just doubles in size during the heat. Even my toes are looking chubby.

My hair has a post code of its own, somewhere in the Sahara going by how dry it is.

Despite my best efforts to not get a tan I still have those god awful tan lines and my freckles and getting darker by the minute.

Summer, such a wonderful time of year!

I think summer is the only time I'm actually hot.

Sadly not in a good way. Did a 12 hour shift yesterday and my feet are still double the size the should be, I've got pink patches of sun burn and bruises all over my legs from bloody picnic tables.

I still love the summer though. I just wish it loved me

But this summer? I'm here for it in all my chubby glory. I like the freckles. The glow my skin has taken on. I like my curls right now, enough that I think I might brave a social with a full on curly mop. I like my tan with white lingerie, it makes everything pop.

"Chins up."

I have grown quite fond of Summer over the last few years but Summer definitely doesn't suit me. I currently resemble a drumstick squashie, I'm exhausted as it is but the heat is making me so uncomfortable and leaving me with little sleep and all I want to do is drink iced coffee and eat ice cream pretty much 24 hours a day. And with a beach holiday just around the corner I think I'll be mistaken for a giant washed up marshmallow when sunbathing.

But sure, it will be over soon enough. And I am so excited for Autumn and wrapping up again in cute cosy outfits and being able to feel cool as a cucumber. I always think time passes by so quickly.
