Tarot Reading

So this afternoon I'm booked in for a Tarot reading. I've never had one before and I don't really know what to expect. I am a bit nervous but the lady is highly recommended by a number of friends.

Have you ever had one? How was it?

Do you think there is something in it or do you think it's nonsense?

It’s not for me but if it was free I’d go for the fun and experience. I hope you have a good time and a positive reading.

I think it's only useful for directing your thoughts and making you consider other possibilities and as an aid to meditation. Enjoy your reading

I haven't had a tarot reading, but over the years when I was younger, I have visited a few 'psychics' as part of a girly evening, all of which came highly recommended. All rubbish.

What are the chances the cards tell you to recommend her to your friends?

I've got several decks and have studied tarot. I can say with some assurance that they cannot and do not predict the future. T

I've never heard of a man doing it but I've seen as a group activity for women. My ex wife used to head off as part of a group to see these people.

The only time I saw someone doing it on their own was trying to deal with a bereavement.

But enjoy yourself and maybe have a read of this afterwards

The cards are showing:

A naked man

A large cake

A complete loss of inhibitions.

Glasgow/London

Derren Brown once took a group of people and wrote a personalised 'reading' for each of them. They all reported the 'reading' to be 75-90% accurate.

They then swapped their readings with each other - only to discover each of them had the same reading!

.

Tarot is much the same, excep the cards give you a sense of personalisation and heighten the gullability.

.

Saying that, over 30years ago my father saw a psychic and was told so much weird nonsense at the time he dismissed it. However, all that nonsense eventually came true. So who knows!

I always have time for people who delve into this.

I think it just depends on how you want to view tarot/psychic reading. Altho, it's easier to be a cynical than open minded.

My personal experiences I've know people to use tarot reading as a tool to get out of a funk, a form of therapy.

It can give a person a sense of direction, or it gives them nothing...

---

Slightly off(on) topic I once visited a witch doctor in another country on my own.

Weird. She knew everything about my life.

Got the future waaayyy off, but it was mind blowing to me (at the time).

I love tarot and all things holistic

Tarot cards are a tool, they're not magic or anything else, just something to help the reader channel their intuition and empathy.

My advice is to be open to the experience, there's nothing to fear from it. The reader is reading your energy, your body language and your words as much as they are reading the cards.

This allows them to see and feel things about you that you may be totally unaware of and can provide great insight for emotional and mental healing.

I hope you enjoy the experience and get a lot from it!

They don't always really predict the future but can help give you guidance on what to do and the possible outcomes depending on which paths you take.

They're extremely useful for that. Don't lose sight of the fact that the guidance is coming from you, the cards are just a way of helping you direct your thoughts to areas you might not otherwise consider. Look at what the illustrations are and see if you can take anything from them . Sometimes you'll think "why didn't I think of that before!"

Never had tarot but a couple of years ago I was eating chips and drinking my dandelion and burdock on a bench when a strange older man started chatting to me and told me messages that he had for me .

Lots of very personal things that he could never have possibly known.

No idea who he was and never seen him again.

I have friends who do it and love getting mine done! I think it’s more about self reflection sometimes as it prompts you and makes you interpret it if I’m right in thinking?

I wanted to get some cards for myself but I don’t have the patience to learn it hehe but hopefully you get some interesting cards let us know how you found it

There is so much ridiculousness in the world, I can't really argue with it making someone happy.

Taking advantage of people that are easily lead. Oof.

That is bad.

Yeah that's my thoughts on it too. Seems like a way of talking to your subconscious. Would do one if the chance came up.

I think a lot of people look outside for answers when they could find them within. I think tarot helps direct your thoughts that way.

Yeah agreed. I'm very intuitive and perceptive of people around me but have a total blind side to myself. Things like tarot cards make a lot of sense to help internalise those thoughts in an exterior structured way for people who might be internally blind.

She was super lovely and it felt like quite an indulgent thing to do, which was nice. I certainly have a few questions but equally I think it confirmed something I already knew
