Where ever I lay my hat

Really isn't any fun, especially when health issues make life very difficult. So live life for today fellow Fabsters and enjoy every minute.

I joke around about age and stuff but one thing I won’t do is wish my life away. I am looking forward to living king but I’m definitely enjoying my youth.

I don’t know what’s triggered this OP but big love to you

Extreme old age can be difficult if you're not as healthy as you could be.

It makes a huge difference.

My dad is 96, lives independently, goes out daily and has a great social life.

Before she died last year at 87 my mum had years of ill health and her last years were unpleasant, undignified and difficult

My parents were the opposite, my mom went out all year round, took such joy from nature and died with grace if that's possible. My dad just found his last few years so difficult. Didn't want to die, couldn't keep living. He told me he was going to hell

Seeing someone in pain and suffering where nothing in life is enjoyable is very hard. I guess it's the luck of the draw about how those later years pan out, but no doubt lifestyle can catch up with you.

Whaley Bridge,Nr Buxton,

Don't let it get you down.Dont stop what you're doing.if you "stop" you never restart,it Al downhill.I have a 92 yr old customer who comes to the market with his walking frame every week for old coins,I know an 88 yr old dealer and his wife who still have a stall at antique fairs,an 80 yr old dealer stil traveling the country. One of the GP's at the local surgery has an elderly father and father in law who are dealers,he has told them not to stop what they are doing.it keeps them going mentally as well as physically.

Couldn't agree more OP and don't put it off either!

My parents are riddled with health conditions and suffer daily with pain and limited mobility etc.

They're only 64!

And especially the old man, pretty much house bound and able to do very little for himself after a dozen or so strokes, heart failure, thyroid issues and a list of other ails.

It's not just taken their life, but affects mine too in being carer for them and it's not just the time it takes either... pretty sure it's the hardest job I've done and draining both physically and mentally.

So as OP said... make the most of it and don't put it off if you can, it's not just old age that can take it all away from you, surely 60s isn't that old?

Live each day as if it’s your last. My mum only made it to 36, and she lived life up until that point. I take comfort in knowing she’d lived a lot.

Hope you’re okay OP!

Mrs
