I've been thinking about hopping on cam at some point to help those that are struggling to get verifications.

Before I do, i wanted to know others opinions/thoughts?

Nothing against it, I just wish there was a seperste tick for "in person" ones vs "webcam" ones.

Filter for cam Vs in person would be so handy!

I personally prefer to see in person meets in veris too but I can be swayed with the right woman

I've done this before.

I think it's a decent thing to do.

I understand the sentiment, but feel it's kind of cheating the system in a way.

What are you actually verifying? This guy sat and wanked whilst I diddled?

If you're having a chat, actually talking 1-2-1 with someone and getting a feel for their personality then that's one thing.

But if all you can verify is that someone was on the other end of the internet and was a certain gender, then how does that actually help anyone? I remember the days when phone veris existed and they were soon banished to oblivion for similar reasons.

Does anyone actually need a webcam veri to confirm they exist? Does anyone actually sense check what's written in a profile and what photos are displayed to match things up? I've seen enough cam veris left by single guys on single female profiles and some couples ones, where its subsequently been showed that porn photos of famous adult entertainers have been used, to realise that it's often as easy way for a green tick to be obtained in order to dupe other profiles into believing someone is real when they're far from it.

Cynical? Maybe. But it sure as hell happens. And it then enables people to get round an all important message filter.

"Going on cam to offer out verifications" sounds like an altruistic act in dishing out free sweets to all and sundry, in a production line manner. It's almost making a mockery of the verification process.

But then I'm not knocking the OP's benevolence and it's not my business.

Clearly men (especially) find it difficult to get 'authenticated' and so who am I to question it?

I agree with Obi - keep within the spirit of the verification, talk to the other person, make it interesting...and not something that resembles a Charity Wankathon en masse.

But, it's not my business...

Noticed on the Irish group a few months ago that there was a thread for couples to meet single men for a coffee and leave them a verification. Seemed to go well and at least 10 couples put themselves forward for an in person meet.

Mine was a 1:1 on cam chat after messaging off site too. It seemed to make them feel better, and I didn't mind making the offer. Obviously it wasn't anything past stating we'd chatted, and they came across well. Frankly I find the whole concept of verification on here to be nuts anyway. But if it makes others happier that someone has been then fair enough I suppose

When it comes to being a single male, that first initial verification is a big deal. It doesn't suddenly get you meets, but you get a whole lot more traction and opportunity than without. Somebody else has confirmed on some level that you do resemble whom you say you are within your profile and pics.

An actual interaction of a conversation, not something that has been prerecorded and shown in place of the cam.

As said it is not some special golden pass, but it makes a difference to quite a lot of people.

That I applaud.

It's useful, accurate and offers the chance to chat privately, view both the individual AND profile in order to be asked to say 'yep, this person looks like their pictures, is sociable and didn't bring an axe and bin liner to the meet', whilst also showing a willingness to make an effort to physically meet someone.

That sums up the idea of a verification perfectly.

There really should be a two tier status for veris, a different flag marker or even fuck it - bin cam veris full stop. Nobody has ever (as far as I know) started a forum thread complaining that they were stood up for a spot of cam session wanking. I suspect people who use rhe cam rooms really don't care about a green tick as long as there's someone to watch.

All fair points. Watching men wank isn't my style anyways, I was definitely thinking of chatting getting a feel for the person and then just giving an honest verification.

You've clearly been here longer than myself and can tell your done with the shite side of the site lol I see your point of it may cheat the system but it also could do some good. I can choose if I want to verify that person, it's not a definite. The old chestnut of if there's nothing nice to say don't say nothing. I'm a real optimist

That's my point.

Read the average cam veri and all you'll see is "I saw this person knocking one out on cam. Mmmmmmmm horny."

There's no link to their profile or personality at all.

And I remember being a single guy on here. People didn't give a fig about people solely cam verified - if anything it put many off as they viewed them as looking for online kicks over actual meets. I did the graft and my first veri was a coffee social.

The point being a cam veri looks to all intense purposes like a meet in person one until you actually delve deeper. Many hide them and don't show the summary so you'll never know the difference.

Speaking as a couple - they're useless to us.

I realise I should have been clearer in my original post. I genuinely would just be having a conversation. Give them a chance to speak to me as if I was in the street or slumped on the end of a bar somewhere lol

I'm not offering Charity Wankathon en masse as Nero so nicely put it

I was speaking generally and from experience. What you suggest is a good thing, given what you've just posted.

But 1-2-1 chats aren't easy in the Fab chat rooms as a result of there being no private rooms and no facility to have an individual conversation. If you can pull it off - all power to you!

Good luck!

"Noticed on the Irish group a few months ago that there was a thread for couples to meet single men for a coffee and leave them a verification. Seemed to go well and at least 10 couples put themselves forward for an in person meet."

There are ongoing monthly help a fabber threads where people offer a coffee meet in whatever area they are in to help others get their first verification with varying degrees of success.

There have been other events organised specifically for those having difficulty getting a verification and more often than not those have either been a failure with many not turning up or have resulted in the organisers being inundated with messages asking if there will be sex involved at these events?

Some organisers have also faced abuse from other fabbers and accused of using the events as a way of finding fresh meat.

It's not all sweetness and light.
