High Lighthouse!

The problem with this, they are boring from the perspective of someone looking in.

I'm assuming the people that participate in a hobby generally do so because they find it interesting.

Do you know what, I could genuinely listen to anyone talk about their hobby whatever it was. I love it when someone has a passion for something, the light in their eyes when they talk about something they love. I might not understand it or share their interest but that sheer passion is awesome

Hehe, go you

And shame on I

Especially considering I worked on/ran a steam railway and although I never number spotted myself... visitors often did and I couldn't think of much, much more boring than that!!!

(Personally I find far more exiting things to do in the carriages, bar, footplate, mess room etc once Joe public had gone home )

That’s a relative question… to the hobbiest, their interest won’t ever be boring. So I guess the answer is there isn’t one!

To say that there is categorically a ‘most boring’ hobby would need for everyone to be in unanimous agreement and that just won’t happen

That’s my two bobs worth anyway.

Going to the gym

(Please don’t shout at me) Keeping fit is important but I’ve never understood why anyone would pay to go to the gym rather than taking up a sport or an active hobby - These will not only keep you fit but will probably bring many other benefits too.

The exception for me is top end athletes who need the gym (in addition to sport) to maintain/improve their level.

Different goals mate, keeping fit and healthy yes I’d agree with your point but if one’s training to improve physical appearance the gym is by far the most efficient way

You’re in already great shape mate, I think I worded my post wrong and it came across a bit cuntish I should have specified growing muscle as it needs progressive overload which most sports don’t provide, your proof thst sport is all needed to improve appearance sorry if it came across otherwise mate

Mental health.

When I went to the gym I found it almost meditative. I looked damn good, but it was a place and space to disconnect from the world and connect with my body

It’s all subjective isn’t it? One person’s passion is another’s boredom. I’ve never understood why people take recreational drugs, I can’t think of much worse ways to spend your time - but they’d probably not think much of my horror movie/book addiction either.
