But I'm perfectly capable of separation between the two meanings and comfortable with the context in which it is used.

Not really...but I think it's bit fucked up personally.

The only two scenarios presented here when someone calls a man Daddy, is when speaking to your actual father or shagging a guy who likes to be called Daddy.

The OP asked for opinions. People are sharing theirs. If you comfortable doing what you're doing then there's no reason to get annoyed with folk who don't like the term.

It’s spelt the American way of daddie for the fetish group much like the newer term mommy

Each to their own they are not hurting anyone behind doors with how they play.

I have a younger than me female fuck buddy that calls me mommy / futa mom of her own accord at times . I just find it whatever and mostly don’t register it but she gets off on it. she does draw anime/ futa / hentai so I guess it’s a thing that group are into .

Now in porn it’s just a current buzz word for marketing that is popular until it gets replaced with the next fad . Or Visa card decide to add it to the naughty list of banned terns. (Most likely )

Can’t say I find it sexy though more just comical sounding and well comedy and sex go hand in hand

The call of those who don't like difference or challenge - " Oh you just don't get it! How dare you shame me."

If they can't legitimise what they believe the call someone out.

It'd be much healthier for them to KNOW and OWN the reasons why they do what they do whoever they are and whatever it is what they do do do do you remember.....

We don’t use it in a DDLG way as it it’s not related to age play. We use it as a sign of respect which is based on mutual love and care. But we are in a dom sub dynamic so it’s part of the power exchange for us.

I like it. Yeah, I know it's not a popular opinion and all that, I don't really care. Blame it on the daddy issues, the clichéd millennial a la Fleabag.

It's not something I'd use with everyone, not every dynamic suits it. Actually, it's rare I find someone where it works.

It's not even in a ddlg way, it's just hot to say "fuck me harder daddy" when I'm gripping on to the bedsheets and him fucking me harder results in me coming around his cock and him filling me.

I've had it explained to me thusly.

I am deeply submissive and it is my way of expressing that I feel cared for and safe in your hands. It's nothing to do with being a child and I don't want age-play.

In that context I found I am fine with it. I'm primal so those feelings being present allow me to let go.

When chatting to girls on here, who are more than 15 years younger than me I don’t mind being referred to as daddy and occasionally a younger man might use it in conversation, but it is a bit offputting when a guy the same age refers to you as daddy, especially when you’re not even talking about anything sexual

The word "daddy" was used to refer to older or protective figures. As early as 1681, sex workers used it to refer to their pimp or trusted older clients. Was even used to refer to a highwayman in 1679.

It is essentially a protector and caregiver role.

Plenty of words out there that share meanings despite the context being very different.

Very much this. It has all to do with the meaning behind it and little with being the same word .

I understand the concept is not for everyone and you might attribute it to “Daddy” issues if you will, but I find it a really sexy and concise way of calling a nurturing and protective kind of Dom.

Oh I agree, there will be people out there that do have sinister motives for enjoying it. The majority of the community that like it don't have these motives though regardless of knowing its origins or not - it's still used to refer to the guardian and protector role in their dynamic.

Some will simply do it for the taboo of the whole thing. "we shouldn't but we will" is a kink in and of itself.

For me, I have no personal connection to the word.

I'm just wired differently and can separate the meanings of words based on their context use and not their surface meaning. I view things from all angles, in and out of a vaccum.

Plus my ex is an American of Puerto Rican heritage, and used to call me Papi so even less of a personal parental connection to that word. Which was used as a term of love and endearment in both sexual and none sexual situations, as somebody she cared for, and felt protected and supported by.

Got to love this conversation that crops up every so often.

Lots of people find it disturbing etc. I'm in a DDlg dynamic but I don't actually use the word daddy. So is that creepy or not? Who knows and I don't personally care. But in some agreement with someone above, that if calling someone Daddy is weird then school girl outfits must also be, as it's sexualisation of a word or a child's outfit. But it generally seems more ok to dress like a sexy school girl but not use the daddy. The world is a strange place

"Got to love this conversation that crops up every so often.

I find the school uniforms creepy to be perfectly honest. Anything which is sexualising a child's behaviour or a characteristic doesn't sit comfortably with me at all.

Though her point is that some people (most people to be fair) are very selective in what they deem appropriate. And that spans across the entire kink community.

We all do it in someway, but some are very hypocritical yet very stoic and stubborn of their views.

You can't like that because reasons, but this thing I like is perfectly acceptable, despite a few similar connecting links.

Having a ponder as you do at lunch. I understand some of the views about the usage of the word daddy and or mammy as things only ones children should use. But that's not strictly true as a poster mentioned the older usage of the words as caregivers.

But we do use it in other context, we use Dad bod to describe a particular physique. I know many vanilla as vanilla can be friends who call their friends sexy mamma on their social platforms. So I do query if these words are that limited in their use?

I have been asked a few times to call guys “daddy”

It is not something that I have any interest in. That is not to say I didn’t do it.

I am sun and I like to please, but I find it strange and not in the least sexy.

I do not go in for the schoolgirl (tarty schoolgirl.. whatever) look either. I don’t find that in the least bit sexy either!

They’re not. I agree. But I think it’s mostly people that are called those things or call their parents those things that have an issue. I think it’s just the sexualising of it that people don’t like. I sometimes feel that way about the way naughty and I’ve said on here before it’s why I don’t use the word play to describe sex.

It's an odd one because some are happy to say a Dad bod is sexy or sexy mamma, which is using the parental words in a sexual context. As I've mentioned I'm in a DDlg dynamic but I don't use the word Daddy. But I use the dynamics name as it's easier for people to understand what I'm into. I totally understand why it's not for everyone though.

Hmmm call me twisted, but part of the thing that kind of turns me on about being a sub is being made to do things that I find uncomfortable.. things that I feel are humiliating and that make me feel slightly ( only slightly ) disgusted in myself. There are definitely lines I will not cross… I like to look back at a situation I have been involved with and feel that the guy of guys…. ( or guys and girls! ) would look back on it and think “ that Linda was a total slut / whore / dirty girl… or what ever .

I have no interest in walking away feeling as though anyone else was abused or mistreated

I don’t know if that really explains or makes anything clear?

People can call their pets baby too and, for the vast majority, it's not because they have a burning desire to be baw deep in their labradoodle.

So you agree that because you call someone daddy it doesn’t mean you want to ride your father?

Not really...but I think it's bit fucked up personally.

The only two scenarios presented here when someone calls a man Daddy, is when speaking to your actual father or shagging a guy who likes to be called Daddy.

The OP asked for opinions. People are sharing theirs. If you comfortable doing what you're doing then there's no reason to get annoyed with folk who don't like the term."

I think this is just wrong in all types of ways! It's offensive to the one getting asked it during sex, I think it shows no respect for that person and basically taking the piss out of them. And what if that person had issues with their dad in the past or something?I think it's pretty sick and low if you ask me. And not to be offensive in anyway, but it is more of a American teenage boys thing. To make themselves feel macho to their mate's and that. You probably get some women who might like it over here, but I would wait for them to ask you to say it first if you was going to say it. I wouldn't feel right saying it lol it would definitely come out wrong if they ask me to say it if they really wanted it. It would definitely feel weird then after saying it with no confidence in your voice lol but my advice, just don't say it at all

Debauchery

We’re in a full time DDLG relationship. It fits in our life perfectly and as you’d expect, what others think of it is their business, but it doesn’t bother us as equally as we don’t force that part of our relationship on others.

It’s but one part of the Dominant / Submissive relationship we have, others including nurturing encouragement, unconditional support and occasional punishments where my expectations are not met..

The form those take can be soft to very hard, but at all times it’s consensual and strictly stops when a safe word is uttered and even when one might have been misheard. With the emphasis on safety and a space to grow, we find the use of the term fits seamlessly into our language.

"Always find it deeply disturbing that said I've still got a child under 5 who calls me daddy, don't know how the term got sexualised and pushed like it's normal behaviour but it's really not, had this debate before on Scottish forums and was told "I just didn't get it and was kink shaming" it's like I got it the term that a child uses for there father has been sexualised and people can't find it disturbing without being classed as shaming "
"Context" being the key word.

"Once had a lady who when Russ licked her pussy she started to play with her hair and suck her thumb "

There was a formite on here a while ago who had a conservative personality on the forums and was totally different via pm…

Anyway we got chatting off site and he would ask me to send videos of me sucking my thumb and calling him daddy in a baby voice while I play with myself

That suggest childhood issues to me.

Didn’t it make you feel uneasy?

Agree. And when guys want to call me mummy... Just no.

But when Rio from Good Girls called Elizabeth ‘mama’ everyone was melting on the socials "

I have no idea what that means

Wow so much kink-sham*ng. The Daddy/Mummy/lg/lb dynamic is primarily driven by the little's needs. It's not about "children" it is adults in little space and wanting to be coddled and praised and looked after and wanting to please Daddy/Mummy.

A horny little who is totally lost in her world and growling something like "Mmmm yes Daddy, pound my tight little pussy..." can definitely level things up a notch

Why is it kink shaming? The OP asked for opinions on an open forum and got them.

Why is it judgemental or kink shaming if you really don’t like something and think it’s weird or creepy. Should we all lie for fear of offending? It bothers me not one bit if someone thinks anything I do is weird. We’re all different. For example - the daddy thing - creepy as fuck. Sexy schoolgirl outfits - hot as fuck.

So is the Daddy scenario creepy, or the person/peaple doing it? In your opinion?

Yeh. So sometimes when I read or listen to people, I don’t hear that, I read or hear people trying to make someone feel weird about like I g something someone doesn’t u deter and how that can be a thing.

I don’t understand loads. But when people explain to to me, I started to think of it not being weird or creepy, but just odd for me. As for me to be doing it would make me feel strange. If that makes sense.

La la land

I do sometimes think people assume all DDlg look and play the same way. I don't use the word Daddy, I certainly do not dress up as a child. But I do like having rules but I'm not into harsh or strict Dom's so I prefer the more nurturing and softer approach. However, I do like to play up and be a bit of a brat on occasion. These all fit into the DDlg dynamic, but I'm neither a child nor do I want to look like one. If someone who didn't know our dynamic watched us they wouldn't even know. It's more on the aftercare afterwards for us. Creepy motherfuckers we are
