My grandad lived in a haunted house

When I was wee me and my mum went to the bathroom in that house and got locked in for half an hour, the taps in the bath and sink wouldn’t stop running and we were banging and screaming on the bathroom door (my dad and grandad were in the living room which was just across the hall, with the door open) and when my dad eventually realised we had been gone a while, he simply touched the bathroom door and it swung into me

Then my grandad put it up for sale and got dragged out of bed and dragged down the stairs, my dad and brother (who is autistic and at that age had no concept of lying at all, still doesn’t really) watched the whole thing, and my dad (who was in his early twenties, in the army, tall and fit) tried to grab my grandad (who’s like, 5’3) to prevent him from getting dragged down the stairs, but whatever was dragging my grandad was too strong for my dad

Ended up having to phone an ambulance cause my grandads shoulder got hurt

Apparently the ghost was friendly until he put the house up for sale

As a child, my son told me that Nana visited him, we often heard him talking away.

He knew so much about my mum, that he had no reason to know.

At the age of one, and obviously we had never spoken about her to my son, as she had passed away a few years earlier.

I came across some photos of my mum with my eldest son, as a baby.

My then one year old would always say 'aw baba' when he saw a baby in a photo, instead he placed his finger on my mum's face and excitedly said, look Nana, that's my nana.

I have several stories like this, absolutely do I believe mum visited him.

No. I'd like to though. I think it’s just our brain doing weird things when people do have these kind of experiences. I can swear on my life that when I was a child I saw Santa fly across the moon. And one time, the toilet chased me down the stairs at my uncles house. I can honestly say that happened because it still feels so vivid and real. But no, it didn't. It's simply down to how powerful and brilliant our brains are.

I wish ghosts were real. I've been begging my brother to come and visit me every single day since he died, and nothing. I know it doesn't quite work like that, but I'd love to experience something that made me think there's more than just us living this life because I have no fucking faith there is anything else.

Yes a few different ones and not really, one was a regular at my grandparents that just walked across the landing and disappeared now and then. Another was my grandad shortly after he died and another I see that tucked my sister into bed until she told my mum, found that they were dead so she screamed the next time and was never seen again

So years ago, I woke up in the middle of the night because the dog was standing on my bed growling and whining. There qas some sort of black figure with a cape and fedora hat standing over me at the bedside, I felt so confused. Then I was suddenly so cold and the figure walked out of my bedroom and to the front door. The dog ran after it barking and wouldn't settle for ages afterwards. I wasn't scared but was wondering wtf just happened- more confusion than anything else. My dad reckoned it was my guardian angel but I've never experienced anything like it before or since

I’m naturally sceptical about such things, I’m one of those “I’ll believe it if I see it” types, but you know, something (genuinely) happened to me as a young(ish) kiddie that defied the laws of physics and basically prevented me from falling down a flight of stairs - I can’t explain it properly but I kind of glided down the whole flight of stairs rather than fell (like I slipped but stayed perfectly upright as I slid down the stairs and ended up totally uninjured at the bottom).

I was too young to think anything at the time but looking back if there IS anything such as Guardian Angels (and as I say, I’m a sceptic!) then they were certainly watching over me that day!

Rational me thinks I was just lucky in the way I slipped / fell.

When he was a toddler, my son used to play football with an imaginary friend in the garden, and chat to him. When eventually asked about his friend he said it was 'gramps', who had been a keen footballer in his own youth, but had died when my son was only 13 months. When shown a picture of gramps in his later years my son said 'that's not gramps, and pointed at an old family photo of gramps in his 20's, saying 'that's gramps'....
