Is it written in the stars?

Have you ever had an experience, which caused you to question whether it may have been fated?

Love at first sight... Did the earth stand still?

Or

Perhaps Orion's belt aligned with your Uranus?

What happened? Or is it all just coincidence?

Oh I believe that things happen for a reason. It makes me feel a little less panicky about having to adult.

I've had some very detailed déjà vu moments, destiny or just a result of a misspent youth. Who knows.

Though I do feel as though I'm destined to have Ryan Reynold's penis in me. I'm holding onto that.

Hmmmm so if fate and destiny are real, then it has nothing to do with our own choices and actions? If it's meant to happen it will.

So it doesn't really matter what we chose to do? Our actions don't really have consequences, they just are a pre written plot?

Fate and destiny are only glorified when it comes to being happy and good things.

I pushed that person down the stairs, because it was meant to be. Their life forever changed because it was meant to be.

What if you make your own stars and we are the architects of our own fate, as we are often told that we make our own luck...?

And through the labours of creating our own luck we enjoy the fruition of that very fate that we begin to question?

I'm making no sense whatsoever.

Sorry.

For some players, luck itself is an art. Eddie Felson.

It made sense to me, perhaps you should be concerned.

I think I may be able to relate to the first part.

In fact I'm getting an eerie sensation right now, my hackles are up.

Mr and I meeting each other is one of those moments, for me at least. Neither of us were looking for anything, but the very first time we met I knew it was different and special. The timing was terrible with lots of life shit going on for the both of us, but we couldn't ignore the feelings lol.

I've had a ton of weird experiences but I think it's more of a case of reality being really weird rather than 'the stars'

If I couldn't relate so well, I'd probably doubt you.

I hope you feel that way for years to come.

Me and the Mr makes me question the whole ment to be kind of thing, I never believed in it all, I've had a shit show of a life and when anyone says things happen for a reason I want to poke them in the eye as I've not deserved half the shit in my life..... But meeting the Mr we work so well, be can handle my awkwardness and wierdness and even embraces it, he's a cunt and a childish idiot and I love him for it, it was all so fast and crazy but it works even I said it never would so maybe there is such a thing as soulmates and all that jazz, I don't know but it's definitely made my outlook on all that soppy shit a whole lot more positive.

I do believe things happen for a reason. Although there is also a lot to be said for self fulfilling prophecies also. I do believe you can make your own luck to an extent or self sabotage for no luck.

Something has made me believe more in the fates recently but it's not my story to tell. Some connections are like a magnet drawing you in so strong they just can't be explained

I've always believed that our paths are set, the journey may change but the people we meet along the way, we meet for a reason. Lessons learned, experiences shared, memories made it's all there to shape our lives. I find it easier to let things/people/love go if I believe and understand the reason they or it impacted my life.

If that makes sense? I'm probably waffling...

Everything happens for a reason. I think we are all part of a giant game of chess and we have our own chess player in the stars, moving us in certain directions. Some good, some shitty.

There's reasonable research that suggests that could be the case

If its all fated, then why try at anything. You could behave anyway you wanted because it is inevitable that it would happen.

All the times in your life when you've been hurt, it wasn't another person's fault, it was just meant to happen, nobody has any control over their lives or actions.

So no I don't believe in fate x

"So, preordained or is there a chessplayer pushing us pieces round the board."

Or just an inevitable series of events. A bit like watching a super slow motion video of an explosion

No that makes a lot of sense to me. I have a similar view. We meet people and for some reason it feels special. I've got a friend who argued almost the same point as you with me, about how we were fated to meet. It was a recurring theme for a long time. In the end I said: It doesn't matter whether it's true or not - what matters is that what we have is that special that it feels like it could be. She was finally happy with that answer took about 3 years

Thing is, if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be here today. Now that's made me question it. X

Nope, I don't believe in fate. Life just happens and our job is to make the best of whatever hand we're dealt.

I think people want to believe something that removes uncertainty, randomness and fear of the unknown. They want to believe that covid was man made, it didn't just happen. Or Diana was killed. Anything, even if it points to nefarious powers at the controls is preferable to the chaos of our lives.

To some extent we're all creations of chance.

As Neo says the the architect: The problem is choice.

I think they pinched that from Sartre personally, but hey good film so who cares.

For sure and usually the nature of that connection can't be known unless you let it happen.

"Yes. And I still belive that fate is cruel in her actions in this particular situation "

I have felt that many times, sometimes I even feel cursed. I still occasionally wake from a beautiful dream; roll over: arm clasping at nothing and my heart sinks as I realise it was a dream.
