I want to abroad, beach holiday, in October. Not too costly. There’ll be me and two guys - separate bedrooms ( ) - flying from near London.

Would prefer a self catering villa set up to hotel all in. I was initially thinking Paxos/Greek islands - but think Paxos may be too pricey. I’d been there years ago in Lakka and loved it.

Please let me know any serious recommendations. Or tips for where to look/who to use.

I’ve never been the one organising the holiday before so have no idea what I’m doing!

What about mainland Spain at that time of year.

A jaunt on a Plane.

I always find the Canaries a bit too far.

Let me know your thoughts.

Egypt is very cheap. Last November I took my daughter to sharks bay it was 20 Euro per night and beautiful , we had little Bedouin huts on the beach , coral reefs a few meters away, sea was warm. You need to fly to Sharm though , then hire a car

Gran Canaria is quite cheap. I think our flights cost about £50 and we booked the hotel separately.

Im off to Portugal mid October, weather is still pretty warm

Staying in a two bedroom two story villa on a complex of eight villas

A little off the beaten track

Portugal could be a good option for you OP

Balearics are lovely at that time of year, they're winding down so everything is a bit less frantic. It's not a popular option but look at travel agents especially the independents. There are a couple near here who often have adverts in their window of holidays that seem relatively cost effective.

Love Croatia, but I’ve only ever done Airbnb on there, did find a yacht for week to sail around the Dalmatian islands on there too, best holiday ever

And there’s three bedrooms

Kenya is a good option as it’s tropical. Head to Diani Beach or Watamu/Malindi and it’s not far from Tsavo if you want to do the whole looking at animals thing

Porto - though beaches are a bus ride away. Get on the train and soak up the culture & history in Braga, Guimaraes & Coimbra. The old town is just lovely, though seen through the misty eyes of the port warehouse tours, most things seem great

Sitges - great vibe, great beaches, 30-45 mins to Barcelona for city vibes

Lake Como, Cernobbio or Como - sit and soak in the views, eat great food, drink great wine, people watch, train to Milan if you need some city life

I haven't been personally, but a few friends are bigging Sicily up at the minute too

Albania is amazing and weather good in October still. I have travelled the world and my wife and I have been constantly traveling for this last year. We were in Thailand three months before coming here and can honestly say it is better. Great people, officially the safest country in Europe, amazing beaches and towns. You cannot find many countries cheaper than Albania. Message me if you want to know more.

Try sc appointments in Adeje in tenerife, clean, reasonable price and added bonus of a good club for fun if you fancy it.
