If I could I'd send a picture but basically says ran into an issue pc needs to restart. Then shows black screen saying boot configuration data for your pc is missing or contains errors

Ok sounds like a bios issue, bios is the operating sytem ' built into the motherboard.

Here's a few options to think about. Open the case and remove the coin battery from the board, replace after 30 seconds

Enter the bios config screen and reset to defaults, depending on the model it might be f1 f2 del key to enter the bios. Look for an option to reset config data.

These 2 suggestions should have the same impact, the bios should have to redetect all the hw again

I am sorry to tell you that the bios does not fart although has occasionally been known to lose it's way due to its battery failing a more likely cause is the bcd is corrupt or hardware failure.

I think for the moment unplug everything from the desktop and i mean everything take the power lead from the back and leave for 24 hours.

If lucky the capacitors will have discharged completely and any error in the bios should clear.

I still think it is actually a corruption of the bcd which will likely need a full reinstall.

here's a few options

Remove the ram, restart without the ram. You should hopefully get a message on screen saying no ram detected. If you do, thats a good sign

Cables, reseat them start with the pwr cable & sata cables, then the 2 cables going to the mb from the psu

Next would be replacing the battery, thats an outside chance.

If you boot with nothing but the disp attached what happen, ie no ram or drives connected?

Sounds like you may have a corrupt boot.ini file - which could be a sign of a failing hard drive.

I'm afraid you're looking at a complete OS reinstall

OK so removed ram nothing happened pc just kept restarting. Re seated ram and now I'm able to use keyboard and get back to bios
