Let us know what made you change something in your life.

Mine was when I realised my underwater needed folding four times.

Whenever I hear of fatalities on the railways, my thoughts always turn to the Train drivers and the trauma they suffer and being able to do nothing to avoid the inevitable. It's not like you can swerve out of the way.

I did a few years in a joint Network Rail/TOC control centre, one of my jobs when I first started was reviewing CCTV, primarily for BTP, but also for investigations into what we referred to as "one unders".

The worst ones I had to review were.....a man who jumped in front of a fast train going through the platforms (not pretty), and reports of somebody who had hanged themself from the footbridge during the night, before anyone could attend, the first train of the day hit the dangling body.

Drivers got counselling, we never got even offered any. I was OK, but there were some youngsters doing the same job who could, and probably were, affected!

When I sat back and realised covid had changed and affected me more than I realised! Worked in ED and then Managed a care home all through the pandemic, it took its toll. Family now comes first and always will

Closest was in one of the few jobs I’ve worked outside of self employment. Was called into the office one morning to receive a verbal warning for low production the day before (wasn’t my fault had to wait loads for the finisher before could turn the stone out) had to sit and get a berating off the foreman and the bosses son decided there and then I was done, asked if they were finished told them both to get fucked or go fuck yourself something along them lines and got my stuff and left.
