"Take it one of those tyre places and get them to look, it'll probably be cheaper" You are right but it went in for an issue I had ( long story) and they did a full test on all wheels and replaced all four tyres only 3 months ago at the dealeship so I was planning to argue thee case so to speak  | |||

"Take it one of those tyre places and get them to look, it'll probably be cheaper You are right but it went in for an issue I had ( long story) and they did a full test on all wheels and replaced all four tyres only 3 months ago at the dealeship so I was planning to argue thee case so to speak "It possibly just needs the tyre taking off and the rim cleaning up. However if it’s leaking it’s leaking. Tyre centres can do that work for low cost. The dealer will charge a diagnostic fee and the hourly charge, unless they’ll cover it as they fitted them for you. | |||

"Just a question pls. I put some air in tyres of the car earlier, did not need much and all was fine till I got to fourth tyre which needed quite a bit more than the other three. As I was doing it could hear some hissing and I put my hand over the tyre and felt some air coming from between the actual tyre and the rim. Do you believe there is a leak or broken seal, whatever they call it? " When your tire was fitted it was overinflated so it cracks onto your rim to seal. A bad seal is caused by rust and not cleaned off correctly. If you have air coming from close to the rim and tire you have either a puncture or someone else has caused damage to it. A bad rim seal can be caused by a tear within the wall of the rim and tyre | |||

The wheel probably needs refurbing. | |||

Obviously I hope I dont have to replace any alloys as they cost a fortune. You can tell I know very little about cars  | |||

It's only a year old "Sorry to hear that. We have the same problem, the wheel needs refurbishing but it's an expensive job on our car. We just pump it up every week but obviously that isn't ideal. | |||

It's only a year old
Sorry to hear that. We have the same problem, the wheel needs refurbishing but it's an expensive job on our car. We just pump it up every week but obviously that isn't ideal. "No (cry) emoji | |||

You can tell I know very little about cars "Rim seal is simple to do tyre off and sand paper and scrape the rim off for both alu and steel rims. It gets gunked with either a tyre sealer or they use the soap at the rim to tyre. Then tyre is refitted and cracked back onto the rim again before they take air off and fit your valve back in the tyre. it all depends on what you want to pay to what type of tyre seal you will get. | |||

"Could be not sealed properly at the bead. Pop in to a tyre fitters, they should be able to check it for you and possibly reseat the tyre" | |||
