Never been a huge tennis fan but I'm watching the Aussie open with a brew!!

Does anyone get bugged by all the grunting and groaning?

One of them sounds more like she's getting royally shagged from behind by a giant cock!! (The blonde - don't know her name! Lol)

Wonder if they're that vocal in bed or if its just to entertain the fans?

Dont like it....!!!

Its unnecessary and only done to interfere with the opponents concentration...

Bad sportsmanship..... Rant over....

lol - yeah, it is a bit annoying..

although, there are some very fit tennis players around - when i was a kid, had a real thing for Steffi Graf - bizarre, with that nose I know!!...then, it was martina hingis, mmmmm, now, well, sharapova aside, (and she's almost tooooo beautiful), theres not much else there

It's a horrific noise, I turn the volume off and replace with my fave tunes. Some of the guys are getting a little noisy these days as well.

I am still in bed but I believe it's azarenka who has the longest grunt in tennis. When she plays sharapova who has the loudest grunt it's ridiculous. I think they should have points deducted for putting off opponents.

P.s. Andy Murray made it to the final on Burns day - ya dancer

It's sooooo not a grunt though!

It's definitely a sex noise!!

Mind you - she doesn't seem to open her mouth when making it!

Very odd!!

Any tennis fans in the same camp as me in actually not finding the women's game interesting anymore?

The guys are putting on awesome displays of shotmaking and power hitting with finesse thrown in, much more entertaining to watch.

There was a study done a few years ago and the conclusion was that the grunting did not improve performance but was a tool to try and put the oppenent off

Bollocks! A pox on your 'study'! Grunting is amazing; it's unconscious; and is the spontaneous expression of burning desire to WIN through pain

I used to do it myself as a footballer - a rampant, valiant midfielder nicknamed 'Rhino'.

One fookin' dumbass ref once booked me for it after giving me three warnings even though I had no idea I was doing it!

Tried to adapt but it took too much away from my game. So I took to banging birds really hard & loud instead!

Never looked back. Thanks ref
