Carlisle usually

Um. It depends what kind of uplifting you like, and what sort of thing you need lifting up out of.

I tend towards reel big fish or mindless self indulgence for keeping the feeling in the words but the energy in the music is juxtaposed to bring the overall feeling up.

What most people call uplifting doesn't work so well for me.

Yes, it makes sense.

I think what I’m after is songs of hope.

Glasgow

Fierce agreement with Mr Blue Sky.

Oddly, I also like requiems. The slow movement from Brahm's, the movement of thankfulness from Faure, every moment of Mozart's. Something about their ability to look loss and terror in the face and find life full of worth and life all the same. More uplifting, in a way, than objectively happy songs. Katrina & The Waves, Walking On Sunshine, is for when you're already happy to begin with...

Hey, nothing cheesy about Mr Blue Sky or ELO, a classic band that has stood the test of time like many others from that era, and MBS is a true classic tune, classical even!

What might be classed as cheesy is the Lion King soundtrack by Elton John, not a mega fan of his but that one is a great uplift tune for us, we love it as it's so easy going and happy, even though the film itself was a bit tragic in places (-:

Oh if we're going classical (because it's what I'm using currently for uplifting, soul nourishment)...

Hungarian Dances: No 5 - Brahms

Concerto for 4 violins in E Minor - Vivaldi

Canon in D Major - J.Pachelbel

Andrew WK - Party Hard

Metallica - Tommorrow Never Comes.

Definitely mate trance music (especially late 90s early 2000s) just gives such an amazing feeling it’s hard to explain why or how it just does

I find that High Hopes by Panic at the Disco is a rather uplifting tune.

Actually, there are quite a few that spring to mind, now I think about it.

Spaceman by Sam Ryder and Blinding Lights by TheWeeknd are another two.
