In regards to this, scientists have identified six main hand holding positions between partners.

Furthermore, according to some of these researchers, the employment of each of these individual positions denotes a more abstruse meaning.

Good folks: When with a partner, describe exactly HOW you prefer to hold their hand.

I like a normal hand grab. I don’t particularly like interlocking fingers as that is a bit too grabsy and can make your hands sweat. Plus when you have to extract from the hand holding, interlocking fingers can get “stuck” a bit.

25 years together and we still hold hands whenever we are out walking. Be it the supermarket, school run or just a walk. Palm to palm with J leading. More of a feeling of safety as if they are saying 'I've got you' and that can be during sex, or just sitting on the sofa.
