Were salt and vinegar crisps once blue and cheese and onion green?

Googling it blows your mind!

Yes! They were!!

And when you consider salt comes from the sea (which I know can often look green, but we all regard it as blue); and cheese comes from cows who eat green grass, and onions are a weggiebell, surely the colours were correct originally?!

Yep, they were.

Also the only flavour that used to be 'not' suitable for vegetarians was cheese and onion.

Many cheese and onion packets are still green... I think it's mostly walkers (and walkers clones) that have blue packets.

It is strange that they choose to be different though
