The big question,I'm on the majority of the big named dating apps, and obviously on here. Now years ago dating was fine free and easy I'm sure you'll agree if you was using the apps when they first came out, these days tho like this place I'm noticing a complete change in what people want on them and on here,it feels all people want on dating apps are more followers on social media and to be fair I'm not even sure what people want on here anymore since lockdown,am I the only one that's thinking people interaction on line has totally changed over the past few years ?

Not sure how social media is or has affected dating (not done that for years) but it is all pervading. There are a lot of profiles on here that reference various platforms. I have no social media accounts at all; an outsider and always will be.

Agree OP. People expect and demand more these days....

I also think the swinging audience has changed a fair amount since covid

Is it the same in the clubs?

I don't think covid has anything to do with it , years ago site's like this were not known to the mass and the over all exspreance was much better , now its full of want to be swingers that don't understand what this sport is about , and yes they just want you to follow them , or look at them on web cam ,

its not a dating site for starter

and 90% on the site are not swingers its that simple and straight forward

add in the majority of the site is men and add in the fake women and couples profiles run by men

then add in all the non swingers and you'll find about 5% of the site are real swingers who really do meet and play once the attraction is there

nobody who really swings puts all there eggs in one basket there are several ways for swingers to contact or meet if the internet collapses swinging will still continue

"….am I the only one that's thinking people interaction on line has totally changed over the past few years ?"

Probably not the only one who thinks this. More and more people join things to use in their way if they can see the benifits. Eg, if I want lots of people to join my ig/of pages, I need to get myself noticed in other places. There lots of people on Fab etc…

But that doesn’t mean Dave or Mary isn’t still here that joined for what Fab was meant for. They are just now hidden amongst all the noise.

*it’s early, this might not make sense.

The internet is over, or at least evolving. Things starting to change in a big way about 2015. Now we all have different facts & realities. If there was any doubt, covid showed what idiots people can be.

The apps used to work, sort of, now they have worked out it more profitable to keep you coming back.

Then there's the bots. I went on tinder during lockdown and it's all there was.

And now we got the influencers and only fans. People have the attention span of fruit flies.

We don't see it because we're in the middle of it still but covid has changed everything. It's up there with WW1 and WW2. There's before and then after.

Definitely agree with this. We were swinging long before we discovered Fab and if anything Fab is a distraction.

I avoid anyone who posts with a connected IG account or similar- if they’re the sort of personality that feels the need for it then I know we’re not going to be compatible, social media appeals largely to those with a narcissistic personality disorder and an obsession for attention-seeking and constant self-promoting behaviour. You can spot those types on Fab a mile off.

I don’t think Dating has changed though as far as the ultimate objective and I don’t feel Fab has changed much over the 6 years I’ve been using it - still want the same things - I’m just older… maybe we’re the ones who have changed.

Nothing has changed except the people, the scenes the same but more expensive everything has gone up in price thats the only influence covid had oh and the fuel shortage didn't help, i think the age of members has got younger and i think thats down to porn, the cut offs as you get older don't help either.

Its still a who you know world if you're in your in, you'd do better to meet people in life person to person than here

I don't know about other ways to meet people since I don't use them, but here, its definitely more of a "hook-up" site, than it used to be.

Much more mainstream, which makes it much harder to sort the wheat from the chaff.

The wheat being the swinging community, in my example.

Theirs Insta / OF accounts on dating apps and here are so easy to spot.

If you are seeing them, you are way off the mark and using dating apps for fantasy / porn.

You need to develop what we used to call “banner blindness” once you can no longer see them, you will do fine on the real accounts, until then it will sap all your time

Thankfully I'd say no other than a different audience of people. All get given same rules on entry no matter the timespace so guess it's based on that
