Do you have a separate phone for Fab?

Or how do you go about keeping yourself completely safe and private when it comes to arranging to meet up with people you’ve only talked to through text on a social media platform?

Just have one phone because I don't give out my number to anyone on here unless we've met a number of times.

Of all the people I've met here over more than 6 years there are only 2 currently on the site that have my number.

Everything is arranged through the site or possibly K*k and I've never had a no show.

Just the one phone. I'm here to meet people for sex or to chat, not running a drug empire.

Yep burner phone now simply for the immediacy of messages when meeting.

We once gave our actual WhatsApp to someone in the early days it was of course linked to our social media and the guy tried a little stalk.

Live and learn.

Somewhere in Co. Down

I have only one phone I have no interest in having a second phone for fab. I also won't give out my number until after I have met someone. And even then only if it's someone I met regularly.

I chat on here and another app before I meet someone and I chat for a good while as well.

It’s this where I understand why people would, and how it should be a good idea.

On that basis should anyone using social media need a second phone?

This place is a hobby for me and not a lifestyle so I don't share facepics or numbers with random people.

Like every other online interaction it's very simple to keep yourself safe if you restrict what info you share.

Finedon ,

Have had a burner phone for years, originally to separate business calls from private life.

Yes I do use it for Fab I see no problems with that.

Good info shared, results are subjective and custom to that individual's dynamics.

I would get too confused with more than one phone - pick the wrong one up or something when leaving the house haha x

I know…. I’ve met a few on here. But there’s really no need for a separate phone unless you’re hiding something or feel extremely vulnerable to pushy people and end up saying yes when you mean no

I have a burner for fab.

I have kids who sometimes have my personal phone. So I need to keep things separate and I don't want to accidently send pics to chat groups where it really wouldn't be a good move.

And I can ditch the cheap SIM should someone be a royal pain in the arse.

I also really like the fact I can leave the whole phone somewhere along with that whole side of life and just carry on as normal with no worries.

I like that too, it’s why I keep message notifications off. It’s very rare people from fab call , they usually message. So unless I go into WhatsApp it’s not bothering me

It might be a wise thing to do if you use an android phone. The way apps want access to all your data would be worrying. What they do with it is another thing.

We don’t give our number out to anyone on here and it’s easy enough to delete my internet history. I have all my pictures stored away on an app that needs a password to open (well when I remember to move them )

Davy Crocket was a trapper, in fact he was the king of the wild frontier.

Us old farts used to watch him on Saturday mornings when we were kids

I only have one smartphone / one SIM for everything, including Fab.

I never give out my number and I never ask the other person for their number. All of my engagements from Fab have only ever moved to WhatsApp once the other person was comfortable giving me their number, ostensibly to chat in detail and to speak on the phone.

If possible I try to avoid people with a 'burner SIM', even if they have a genuine reason for it. They seem to struggle in maintaining the momentum and quality of the chat because they're juggling two phones whilst 'managing' the subterfuge.

I don't keep a burner phone. Got only one phone and one SIM card and Fab is the only place I arrange my meets from.

I used to have Snapchat for meets but I've eventually stop using it because my Snap was linked to my social media and phone book and I started to receive too many friends/family requests. I was terrified what If I make a mistake once and I send a wrong snap to my uncle or cousin.

"Do you have a separate phone for Fab?

I have a Tinder phone which is the dating phone which has become the Fab phone. too many men have misbehaved around me. Just makes my life easier.

I have a safety buddy and I tell them where I am and when I expect to be back. I try not to do impulsive things because I know that they will worry if I don't message back.

I don't use social media for dating, sex or romance.

I use Facebook for family and friends.

I use Instagram to stalk hairdressers

I use tik tok to laugh at Gen Z but also steal their tips on how to cope with neurodivergent brains.

I avoid twitter as it's a dirty swamp

Um only had one friend on snap chat,,,the sibling...

I skipped Blackberry altogether.

Is that all of them? I'm too old to keep up.

I don't do a lot of private (read discreet)(read cheating and lying)(read truthwithholding) things. I lay my cards on the table and deal with the consequences. I have very little to hide. I'm legally protected by being a black immigrant-background disabled woman in my job. They can try me if they want....They never seemed to have gotten very far as soon as it goes to HR or the UNION.

People's so-called morals, ethics, and respectability have caused me more pain and trauma than I can deal with in 10 lifetimes.

So I learn how to protect myself from people. If that means that I don't trust them, I'd rather that than more trauma.

In fact, I feel safer in the clubs because there are staff, other members, identification, and cameras in certain places.

People do still behave badly in clubs but it's less than a private home/hotel meet in my experience.

"I had a burner phone but people kept thinking I was trapping "

I got that too.

Are you a drug dealer? No I have a dating phone because men are stalkers and some are overly clingy....message at all times of day and night when I'm in freaking meetings or sleeping.

my ex used to do it. Could I ever get hold of him to aks him what he wanted for dinner? No. But when I didn't text him back because I was in meetings all day, he'd have a literal meltdown..even if I told him that I was in meetings all day.

Yeah fuck out of here with that.

This is a very small aspect of my life. So much that I don't log on daily for hours on end. Same with the dating/meet/sex phone.

I've never been a phone person anyway and I just got tired of people constantly asking for my Whatsapp and getting mad when I said no and refusing to meet/date/etc.

So when I'm ready I just toss both phones in the hallway where I can't hear them and go about my business at home for several hours.

"I don't any more, I did in my slut phase. I'm generally quite good at vetting, not regretted a decision so far regarding it - muting and archiving has really helped as well. "

Being neurodivergent has made me become extra protective of myself.

Neurotypicals really do take the piss with neurodivergents and other differently-abled people and the worst type are the ones who are actively manipulative to get what they want.....sociopaths and psychopaths.

Even my therapist had to convince me that I was vulnerable. ( physically and psychologically)

So I don't play around with people anymore. My boundaries are there to protect me. Yes separating out my personal, work and sex life are hard boundaries for me. Other people might not want any boundaries but no to loose boundaries for me is a trip to hospital, jail or the grave. No thanks.

I'm always appalled and triggered by the damage that people do to each other intentionally and unintentionally. So I'd rather nip that in the bud from the beginning rather than rely on my own basic assessment because my basic assessment has been so wrong in the past about people.

Prevention is better than cure for me.

"I just try to avoid the nutters "

I'm a nutter and I've found people nuttier than me.

That's when it becomes very scary. I went on a speed dating event once and one just managed to get me alone, chatted me up and then tried to manipulate me into letting him take me home. I said I have a rule about letting strangers take me home. He then said fuck the rules. Little does he know that I have to live my life by rules and routines. I then told him I like taking Tfl and made my escape through the ticket barriers. Lol!

One of the few times I was relieved to live in London and take TFL. No waiting around for an Uber or having him try to follow my car home.

Men in general do not think about these things. But I've had to walk a different way home, drive a different way home, get the uber to pick me up and drop me off on a different street and take a different bus. For some reason, men become fixated on a woman and then demand her attention even when she's shown that she's not interested.
