Is sex over rated?!

This is deeper than it seems. (Pin intended)

I don't mean, is it good? But do we make a bigger deal of it then it needs to be?

For you is it giving up your wonderful self in a vulnerable state...or is it just a fun act of rubbing bodies together to pass the time in a naturally entertaining way?

Do men and women have different mindsets on it because of the stakes?

It's gonna get deep in here. Or it's gonna get weird. Or it's not gonna get anything at all

I don’t think gender plays a part but I do think the feelings on how we value sex depends on who it is with. It can just be some body parts touching for pleasure or it can symbolically mean so much more.

Idk. Yk?

I make a big deal out of men not trying hard.

You know, the lazy ones.

Sex is my one leisure activity and I put my heart, mind, body and soul into it.

It is a big deal.

Totally operated. The connection and anticipation trumps everything to cum.

It can be both, just body parts rubbing together and or being vulnerable depending on who it is with and the connection made.

Is it really that complicated? It's more than Johnny Lydons 15 seconds of squelching.

Its about desire, intimacy vulnerability, courtship and good old fashioned monkey brained lust. More besides that. We ain't nothing but mammals.

Aren't we the only species to use items to enhance the experience?

It's people's perception of it. Can one night stands be cool because it's just an act or does it need more intimacy and emotion

They could be cool or not cool. But doesn't intimacy make it better? I dunno.

It's not overrated at all. I don't think we make enough of a deal when it comes to sex.

So for me, most of the time, it isn't about being vulnerable. I'd only feel that way with someone new. With my partner, it's giving myself to him and rubbing our bodies together until we both explode with glitter and sprinkles. And it's lovely. I highly recommend it.

It is both. I need some element of non sexual connection for the physical act of sex to really be fun. Otherwise it can be a bit boring and I feel a bit disconnected from it. Think eating a really good meal but you are full of the cold. You know the meal is tasty but you just can't get excited about it because you can't fully taste it.

But I do not think that everyone should feel that way. I just wish people made as much of a deal about it is as appropriate for them in the at moment of thier life and let others find thier own level too.

I think that's where I have a different view, because my sex has never resulted in birthday cakes

Sex is overrated when your looking for something deeper and spectacular than what you end up getting. However if you get the experience your looking for all more then of course its not.

Not everyone is looking to scratch the same itch every time with the same person. Sex it not one type of thrill or connection ever time. It's often dependent on where that individual is at personally and the time, space and the person/s they're having the sex with. For example we as a couple sometimes fool about, sometimes have passionate solid sex and sometimes have sex that unlocks into a very special sort of spiritual place which is pretty overwhelming and magic. All of it is good when it's the sort of sex we want at that time. Likewise the sex we have with other people who don't share the same connection is different from that we have as a couple. That doesn't make it bad or underrated.

I can only speak for myself really.

I don't think it's overrated. My life experience is just such that I've had a lot of sex within a very deeply intimate relationship, where we explored our fantasies, kinks, swinging and eventually poly.

So I have a clear perception of what makes sex great for me. I have very little desire for sex without intimacy. My desires are fluid but the connection aspect is consistent.

I've had the sex thousands of times. I still thinks it's amazing. So I dunno guess it's both depending how you look at it. I rate it!
