Tiger shark attack

My heart goes out to the family of the poor Russian guy attacked and killed in Egypt by a Tiger shark the footage is horrific RIP x

Impressed you posted it before Essex tom got hold of it. I do feel sorry for the family i imagine its an unbearable way to die. Unfortunately if you swim in shark infested waters it's a risk you take, even though shark attacks are so very rare considering how much we invade their homes.

I completely agree but it’s still terrible when it happens I was actually bitten by a tiger shark on holiday and have the scars to prove it I’ve never been in the water again not even a swimming pool .

This is going to read as incredibly naive!!

I was in Australia a few weeks ago, a small beachside town called Cronulla, south of Sydney.

The most amazingly beautiful place I’ve been for years (and I travel a lot), people surfing, kids in the sea etc; I was sat on a bench deep in a three hour conference call.

Next thing the place went batshit, sirens, flags, dudes on the beach in jeeps; I’ve never seen the ocean empty so quickly, it was surreal.

Fast forward half an hour and this surfer dude comes to sit next to me on the bench to dry off. Call is over so I ask……what’s the issue mate?

As cool as you like he says, just a shark, two I think, happens all the time mate

I was ruined, all day!

Never seen a shark in the Mersey, dead body maybe but hey ho!

It is as a profound reminder that we swim in their backyard and the price to pay can be fatal #shark

I can completely understand how that could put you off for life. I like tiger sharks, they remind me of myself. They can be grumpy and will pretty much eat anything.

I think that was more likely the oceanic whitetip, like in the case of the Indianapolis

Same thing happened in Hurghada this time last year. Two ppl was killed. I really wish people would stop filming that stuff and posting it across social media.

We are due back out in 11 days, I'll throw some flowers out at sea for him

Right ? I've seen the news and found it so disturbing. Not the actual attack but the vivid description in the article using witness video and victim shouting out to his dad for help. Couldn't bring myself to watch it. Why anyway?

I had the pleasure of diving with Great White Sharks on a trip to South Africa a few years ago … yes I was in a cage!

It was a beautiful moment, whilst scary … probably because of the films!! … they really are gorgeous majestic - it changed my view completely of Sharks.

The bottom line is, you enter into their world at your risk .. and treat them and their world with respect!

The video's of them killing the shark then smashing its teeth out are no better. I'm on all the Hurghada fb pages as I spend a lot of time there, when I've been scrolling the videos have popped up. I didn't choose to look at them and certainly haven't watched until the end. I don't like it at all. God knows how ppl manage to stand still to film it all. I'd be a screaming wreck

More than likely a mixture of both. As they both only hunt by themselves it could of been either. I do remember watching a documentary about it some years ago, airmen that survived attacks did put the attacks down to Tiger Sharks though.

It's no more their world than ours, it's just the world & nature.

It's dog eat dog & food is survival so immensely sad, a disturbing video as so like a Jaws movie but will happen again if in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Absolutely… a very cathartic experience …. One of the top things I’ve done in my life. 2 18-20 ft sharks appearing from the deep and seeing their elegance … they were initially more afraid of us and kept shooting off at the sound of breathing regulators!!! We ended up pushing them away from the cage … their skin is very rough - not as you’d imagine! … if you ever get the chance - do it! One of the best places is Gains Bay … not far from Cape Town.

They have sent it off for forensic analysis, as they thinks it's the rouge, that's been responsible for several incidents in that area

You see it with Bears also, hunter goes to kill the bear and gets eaten. So they go shoot the bear for defending itself.

Reports that they have found the human remains inside the evil bigger. The family can at least have a decent funeral with their son and they got the right murderous shark. The beach has reopened and soon tourists will be out there again. This is one reason Tom does not swim in the sea.

I've been in swimming with Whale Sharks.

They're nicer and more friendly
