"2 Maternity Action information sheet Rights at work for fathers and partners 2012 Can I take time off to attend antenatal appointments with my spouse/partner? Fathers and partners do not have a legal right to paid time off work to accompany their spouse/partner to antenatal appointments as this only applies to pregnant women. However, as a matter of good practice the government encourages all employers to allow expectant fathers and partners to attend antenatal appointments without loss of pay. See the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills’ leaflet Fathers-to-be and antenatal appointments: a good practice guide. You should discuss with your employer which antenatal appointments you wish to attend, for example, you may only wish to attend scans or you may need to attend more appointments if there are particular concerns or tests. If your employer does not provide paid leave, you could ask if you can work at home for part of the day or make up the time later. Alternatively, you could take paid annual leave. found this on a site dont know if it will help much i just copied and pasted it as i dont know if i can post the site on here x " Someone tried that at our place and the reply back was opoerational needs, sorry you can't have the day off.

"I'm gonna go pink to x In some places they refuse to tell people that flavour of the baby ( ) due to rises in abortion etc on cultural grounds " my first scan was carried out at 33weeks and that was a growth chart, they couldnt tell me the sex of my child at that point as the baby was too big, despite not seeing male bits n bobs it wasnt a given that my baby was a girl. was only at my 36wk scan (2nd growth) that i was told i was having a girl as she was 'flashing her hamburger to the world' lol loved the terminoligy used

"So its my last scan this afternoon, my poor Hubby can't be there cuz his boss is a Dick and won't give him afternoon off, and we are finding out what we are having, so what will it be? PINK OR BLUE?" Man, what a mean fisted boss he must have. I'd have told him where to shove it tbh. These are experiences you'll never to experience again, but I guess with a baby on the way he can't put himself out of work. Good luck with the scan.

"I'm gonna go pink to x In some places they refuse to tell people that flavour of the baby ( ) due to rises in abortion etc on cultural grounds " It is policy in Luton not to tell the sex of the baby unless you've had an amniocentesis. They certainly won't tell you the sex on a routine scan.
