What’s with that overheated feeling when you’re freshly showered and getting dressed? I’ve got all sweaty again! Dang!

Old tip the locals gave when I lived abroad was to spend a few mins under the ceiling fan after a shower while still damp, it helped us cool the bodies core and worked a treat, a fan on a table works too

Also fill water bottles 2/3 and freeze on their side, fill with more water when you’re ready to drink and it’ll keep itself cool for hours

And the last was to soak a tea towel and freeze flat, was gorgeous to hug on too hot days

Everything gets me sweaty nowadays

I have tablets that make me cold, and other tablets that make me really warm

So I’m constantly going between absolutely sweating, to absolutely freezing

Whenever a shower I take about 40 mins or so when I get out to do things slowly so I don’t end up a giant sweaty mess all over again

Doesn’t always work

It helps to keep your place cool by opening windows and doors on opposite sides to get a through-flow of air. As long as it’s not silly temperatures outside, but low 20s will be fine.

Also remember that a fan only circulates air at the temperature of the room. It doesn’t cool it.

The cooling effect is produced by the movement of air on your skin.

I shall be setting homework, so pay attention.

Possibly, and, there’s no scientific evidence for this, maybe have a cooler shower?

Either that or it’s the Mary poppins menopause.

Winter lasted forever. I'm not yet at the stage of hankering for a cool day. Bring on the sunshine, the roses and the poppies, the elderflower, the long evenings and the chilled wine. And my traditional sunburn, which I am annually too stupid to avoid and have simply accepted will arrive alongside the swallows & swifts.

I heard a rumour (started by me) that the only way to combat this problem is to stand totally naked at an open window at the front of your property and jiggle yourself about for a while.
